Chris Malinchak, JDH (FIXED), Speakerbot
New York's "future house" French Express producer Chris Malinchak will be bringing his feel-good sound of Nu Disco, Funk, and House to Glasslands on Friday, January 18th. Supporting him will be FIXED's Josh Hotkin, better known as JDH, and New Jersey's deep house robot-DJ, Speakerbot!! Don't miss out on this one.
Coming out of New York City, Chris Malinchak is a legendary house producer and one of the most well known of the French Express crew. He brings a sound of Nu Disco, Funk and House that sounds more like an entire band's composition than one man working with electronics, a feeling that to his extent is hard to come by. His driving beats pair with such a natural grasp on musical composition to create an act that can't be missed.
Rumors of NYC nightlife’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. While the ever-pervasive rumors of “no dancing allowed” and draconian cabaret laws continue to reverberate around the world’s cities, the state of underground dance music in the big apple is indeed much stronger. This is thanks, in no small part, to the efforts of Dave Pianka and Josh Houtkin (DJing as Dave P and JDH, respectively). The two have been responsible for bringing over some of the most credible DJs and live bands and giving them a proper venue and environment in which to play. In addition, they have honed their DJ and production skills over the years, and are increasingly breaking new records and sounds with their back-to-back sets. Dave has also recently kicked into gear with production duties, contributing remixes of established acts like the Klaxons and Bloc Party.
Speakerbot is the robot-DJ alias of New Jersey's Aashish Bansal. Aash has been producing his own blend of deep house, disco, and funk for the last 6 years and can be found playing his eclectic mix for crowds in house parties, venues, and festivals all over the Northeast. Backed by an incredible stage presence and almost encyclopedic knowledge of all things electronic, his shows are an engaging dance party that is sure to get any crowd moving.
