Late January: the holiday cheer is behind us, resolutions have been made and we stare down the deep freeze of a long NYC winter. This is the perfect time for a special little surprise for all the loyal and local heads. Thema Nights will be back on Friday January 18th with none other than Detroit's dark horse and Techno's man of the hour, Terrence Dixon! 2012 will stand as the year Terrence emerged from the dark recesses of the underground to put the rest of the world on notice with his sprawling masterstroke for Tresor, "From the Far Future Pt. 2", preceded by a deep and heady release as Population One on Thema Chronicles in addition to releases on Delsin, Knotweed and Harbour City Sorrow. Also on Thema's Re:Vision series with the re-release of the timeless "Minimalism" featuring remixes from Mike Huckaby, DVS1 and Silent Servant which is already on sold-out status on most sites but dont fret, its being repressed as we speak!
As always, resident and host Lenny Posso will be there to whip the faithful into a frenzy with the the ace selection and honest delivery he's known for, while guest Chris Malec kicks the evening off with some busted short-circuited oddities to set the tone just right.
Oh—and for those of you checking the calendar and thinking twice about showing up: Terrence wont just be DJing—he will be playing a rare live set! His first in NY in...well, ever. The man hmself has requested that it be "extra dark", whatever that means. Sounds good to us! Skip history at your own risk.
