Two of Melbourne finest and forward thinking crews join forces for one special night...
The Operatives and Novel proudly present Julio Bashmore & T.Williams.!
One of the freshest talents coming out of Bristol, Julio Bashmore is such a master of the ins and outs of American house that he gives the impression that he was born there. His output over the past year or so has flitted around the edges, never quite moving in a straight line, roping new styles and sounds onto house foundations with an always playful, deft touch. The funky strut of Um Bongo’s Revenge, the old school piano on Jack Got Macked, Footsteppin’s rich, elastic, 2-step accented, grooves. His trips back and forth in time have enabled him to present his work as a producer on labels like Dirty Bird, Soul Motive and Ten Thousand Yen (Doc Daneeka's label) and to lay down his first "Essential Mix" for the BBC and reach success with one of the big hits of 2011, “Battle For Middle You” followed by the instant classic "Au Seve"...behold his Melbourne debut.
Here’s something to be said for getting noticed, for standing out from the crowd. Standing out for the right reasons though isn’t always the case. London’s T.Williams is one of those ‘right’ cases, having accomplished a full sweep of merited recognition over the last couple of years. Emerging onto the house scene in 2010 via Tom Lea’s Local Action imprint, T.Williams instantly marked himself as a breakthrough artist with a difference; his unique take on house music turning heads. Ahead of the game with his productions, T.Williams also defies the conventions of deep house with his DJ sets seen across the UK and Europe as well as his weekly Rinse FM show. T.Williams’ mature and infectious DJing confronts genre limitation whilst never faltering to move the dance floor.
