electric minds kicks off 2013 with our first party of the year on Saturday 2nd March and we have invited back one of the most prolific house producers of recent years, Motor City Drum Ensemble, whose DJ Kicks mix compilation reiterated just why he’s one of the most in demand jocks around. His encyclopedic knowledge of all things disco, soul, house and techno makes for a well-versed set that spans decades of dance music with both stone cold classics and obscure gems given equal spotlight. Joining him is one of our favourite guests of 2012, Efdemin. The Dial Records affiliate kept us dancing into the wee hours with his selection of driving techno and shimmering deep house at our loft party last year so we’re extremely happy to have him back.

Wed, 06 Mar 2013Excellent. Admittedly I didn't know about Dolan Bergin before the event, and between my friend and I, we were really impressed by the set prior to MCDE stepping up. Lovely deep and patient passages to set the night up aptly.

Look forward to hearing more from Dolan in the future.

Wed, 06 Mar 2013There will be a recoding going up shortly but most likely it will only be Dolan's part, sorry we cant include MCDE & Efdemins : )

Wed, 06 Mar 2013Mr Bergin, following the party last Saturday, and on noticing a recording device by the mixer, are we to see an upload of the sets online anytime soon?

Not that I need it for tracklisting reference, I managed to remember a lot of tracks played, but would be good to hear the mixes in the future!

Thanks.

Mon, 04 Mar 2013Haha I really hope that slope comment is a troll otherwise clubbing as we know it is dead. I'd personally prefer promoters to invest in slides to take me to the smoking area rather than being a able to see a balding man press buttons on his laptop!

Mon, 04 Mar 2013Acky 13 – while it’s never nice to hear someone didn’t enjoy an event, I’m interested as to why there appears to be so much variance in peoples’ opinions about how crowded the venue was. People towards the front seemed fine; to the point where when people really started to move or jump (like when MCDE played Wayne’s County Hills Cops), there wasn’t much of a crush at all.

On the whole, the event was well run, in a venue which was well adapted for the purpose - most of the above posts bear... More
