We are delighted to announce...
Jay Haze //
A real protagonist in today’s electronic industry, whether through his wide-ranging output, his consistent performance behind the decks in the club, or through his devout engagement in charity work, Jay Haze continues to touch the lives of many.
The name behind the Fuckpony, Sub Version and The Architect aliases, Jay’s career spans twelve years and countless credentials, inviting people on a thought-provoking and unfettered journey through sound. A journey resulting in six albums, two mix CDs, a string of remixes and collaborations with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Michal Ho, and releases on prolific labels such as Get Physical Music, BPitch Control, Cocoon, Playhouse, Desolat and Soma. The decade past also saw the inception of his prominent TuningSpork, Contexterrior and Future Dub labels in the beginning of the 00s, along with Textone.org – an online electronic music magazine and internet label which helped usher in the digital revolution.
In a fickle electronic climate the non-conformist American adheres to the belief in quality over hype, and explains his ever-evolving sound as feeling rather than direction – which also at times veers into pop, hip-hop, dubstep and reggae. The latter two are evident on Jay’s critically-acclaimed long-player Love=Evolution of last year, his most classic piece to date which was given away globally as a free download.
Having played in over 35 countries and some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, including Detroit’s Movement Festival, Panoramabar in Berlin, D-Edge in Sao Paolo, DC10 in Ibiza, Arma17 in Moscow, Inti Fest in Lima and Fuse in Belgium, as well as holding down a quarterly residency at fabric in London, Jay tirelessly continues to criss-cross the globe.
Not content with pushing sonic boundaries, Jay is also one of the driving forces behind the ongoing Red Dot Relief initiative in aid of Japan, which was launched last year, and in 2009 Jay launched the DJs for DRC campaign where all the takings from his Fabric47 mix compilation were donated to help the victims in the war-torn Congo.
