We’ve missed it sorely but after a two month break its once again time for DDD to fill our weekend with joy. The next party on April 12th is at the hottest new venue in Shoreditch, East Village, already a pilgrimage for many.
Musical duties for the event are taken up by Anja Schneider, responsible for the Mobilee empire that began in Berlin and has swept the Globe. Now one of the most influential women in the techno game, Anja wanders the globe with impressive DJ dates, this one her first for DDD.
As head of Freerange Records label and part of acclaimed live outfit The Bays, Jimpster is to thank for bringing forward a cream of quality music. His musical upbringing and open-minded attitude to all genres and another first performance has us eager in anticipation.
Adding to our concoction are a production team, live band and DJ collective, four gentlemen and one lady who have over the last decade played live and DJed across the world, written and produced three artist albums and remixed too many artists to list, all under the alias of Crazy P and Crazy Penis. Danielle Moore, the unmistakable lead singer promises to mesmerise for the evening and also be performing a live PA with Matt Playford (see below) to showcase their productions signed to Redux, 2020Vision’s sister label.
Some artists that have far more respect, understanding and genuine love for their craft than we can understand, Mat Playford is one such artist. Mat's passion for music began at the tender age of 5 years old, where he took it upon himself to be the tape operator at his mother's aerobics classes. This was a huge signpost of what was to come and to the present day, Mat has spent many hundreds of hours and equivalent in pounds tracking down keyboards of all ilks and vintages. Its no mean feat to be tipped by the likes of Paul Woolford and Sandy Rivera as the next big thing and collaborations continue with Darren Emerson, Tim Deluxe, Angel Moraes and Clive Henry. The scope of Mat's musical trajectory takes in all manner of house from deep New York-style tracks to the contemporary. As our newest resident the cliché "a man to watch" has never been so apt.
Residents Simon Baker (head of Infant Records and with forthcoming releases on Leftroom and remixes for Simian Mobile Disco amongst others) and Simon Morell make DDD the familiar and truly memorable party we can rely on. This is a 500 only capacity venue so get your tickets quick. Block out your diary DDD is back.
