Ya know it's true what they say about dream pop-it induces otherworldly states of mind. Come join us for a DJ set by dream pop artist Blackbird Blackbird and be carried away to lands where hypnotic synths and samples of ghostly female vocals float sweetly side by side.

-BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD (DJ SET)-

Active since April 2010, Blackbird Blackbird (Formerly Bye Bye Blackbird), a.k.a. Mikey Sanders, is a prolific dream pop artist from San Francisco, CA.

Seemingly always working on new material, Blackbird Blackbird’s collaborations with female vocalists (including Emily Reo, Steph Thompson) have allowed him to take his music to an entirely new level.

Reminiscent of Gold Panda or Washed Out crossed with female-fronted vocal samples, Blackbird Blackbird has transcended attempts to denounce him as merely “fitting in” with a specific genre or classification.

Blackbird Blackbird is constantly releasing fresh tracks on
bandcamp and myspace.

Blackbird Blackbird has also generated a huge following on
Hypem and is frequently listed on the Top 100 and climbing the charts as one of hypem’s most blogged artists.

In interviews Mikey has discussed growing up highly influenced by My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, M83, Joy Division, and New Order. His music and style are unique, experimental and unclassifiable.

-AMERICAN ROYALTY (DJ SET)-

American Royalty is a psych-pop three piece that constructs an unlikely yet glowingly functional blend of dark psychedelic rock and poignant electronica. This creative soundscape is topped off by the vocal lead of Marc Gilfry, whose pipes both seem to fall somewhere in the realm of where blues and soul meet back on the other side.

The hard working trio spent most of 2012 on the road, from SXSW to CMJ, resting in LA only for a month to play a residency at The Echo and record their new EP. American Royalty’s unique and seasoned approach to the stage is one of the reasons why KCRW highlighted them as one of the “LA bands to watch at CMJ 2012”, and earned them support slots for a wide roster of talent including Metronomy, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Digitalism, The Presets, Ladyhawke, Hanni El Khatib and more.

In February 2013, American Royalty moved from Los Angeles to Brooklyn and released their new EP, Prismatic. The new EP showcases the band’s distinctive style, characterized by forward-thinking electronic production, timeless blues rock musicianship and electrifying vocals. Prismatic received early support from radio outlets like BBC Radio 1 and KCRW, while Noisey described it as “a very special genre-hopping EP that’ll never leave you bored, ...with R&B influenced vocals and tribal drumming”.

-AIR ZAIRE-

Less than a year after moving to Brooklyn, Air Zaire (aka Adam Santucci) has earned a spot among the who's who of upcoming producers following the success of his infectious original releases "All For You" and "Play."

Instant hits on the decks and off, the singles prove the South Florida native's worth as a musician outside of the DJ booth. With support from Zimmer, Satin Jackets, Le Youth and outlets such as Time Out (NY), Brooklyn Exposed, Indie Shuffle and LaGaSta, his tropical-infused beats show great promise for 2013. In addition to playing alongside game changers such as The Martinez Brothers, Footprintz and Justin Miller in 2012, Air Zaire also released a slew of mixtapes along the way, all of which have received utmost praise by listeners worldwide.
