Eddy Jasmin is one of the key figures in the eastern Canada electronic music scene. In 1995, ten years after his humble beginnings in Montréal suburbs, a young Haitian-Canadian was hired to take over the decks of the legendary Bain Douche Night Club on Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Ten years later, the adopted Montrealer would then be considered one of the top DJs of his generation. Nicknamed « Montréal’s Prince of House », in the title of a 2004 interview, a term which has since stuck, Eddy is no stranger to the techno and electro vibes either borrowing the best of both styles as his “fine-tuned” animal instincts guide his selections delivered with taste and poise. those who have followed this multi-talented artist know of his great diversity.
Amongst his many talents, it must be noted that Eddy understands the art of meeting and greeting all those he encounters, with utmost enthusiasm, making him one of the most accessible artists in the music business. With his numerous sets at such clubs as the legendary SONA, Aria, Red Lite and Stereo, as well as a multitude of events such as Celebration’s, Connected, Bal Érotique 2, Ibiza @ Beach Club, or as program & artistic director of the famous Circus Afterhours, Mr. Jasmin has left an indelible imprint on the development of Eastern Canada’s House music community.
Whether it be at his weekly friday night residency at Sky Club or at the chic Terrasses Bonsecours or at monthly night residency out of town, the Eddy Jasmin musical voyage, which exhilarates all the senses, is always in full force.
Rick LaPlante ♥
Originally hailing from Ottawa, Rick Laplante returned to the Nation's Capital in 1998, after living in London, ON for 10 years. His involvement in the London party scene began in early 1992 with Prism Productions, a project committed to hosting intimate gatherings with good vibes and fresh music. Unable to resist the siren song of the turntables for long, Rick began basement DJing later in 1992, with his first professional gig the following year.
His main musical influences came through London's proximity to Detroit and Toronto, where frequent weekend visits to these cities exposed him to some of the most groundbreaking underground sounds heard in the world during the early 90's. Rick has now been professionally DJing coming on 20 years, and throughout his career he has played on the same bill with notables such as Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Deadmau5, Super Flu, Robert Babicz, Derek Plaslaiko, Jeff Milligan (aka Algorithm), Marc Romboy, Yapaac, Osunlade, Holosound (aka Alex Fish), Martin Villeneuve, John Creamer, Eli Wilkie, Luke Morrison, Jerome Robins, The Junkies, The Roaches (aka Nathan Barato & Carlo Lio), Tone Depth, My Favorite Robot, Etienne Ozborne, Arthur Oskan, Noah Pred, Nitin, Talal & Zoi, Alicia Hush and many, many others.
Rick's preferred club style is anything that can be described as funky and/or bouncy tech-house, yet he also draws influence from his eclectic music collection - with flashes of myriad genres, ranging from techno to disco, breaks to jazz and from latin to lounge. He hasn't forgotten his musical roots from running the Detroit-Toronto corridor for years, either... so you can always expect the unexpected while Rick blends several different auditory flavours into his Dj sets.
While Rick endeavors to provide the dance-floor with a progressive blend of electronica and always looks to bring new sounds to the listening and dancing audience, he still doesn't shy away from the classic underground tracks. Don't be surprised if you hear an old favourite or two thrown in the mix, as well. Good music is timeless!
Since moving back to Ottawa, Rick has been active in the local scene of our Nation's Capital, promoting a weekly afterhours event, Sunrise, for its run of almost 4 years, and now with a new promotions company "Framework Music". As well as promoting events, Rick's performed many out of town gigs, such as in Toronto at Circa, Comfort Zone, Guvernment, 4 consecutive years at Harvest Festival ON, in Montreal at Circus Afterhours, Velvet Lounge, and I Love Sundays @ Terrasse Bonsecours, in Kitchener's Purple Room, London, and U.S. cities like New York, NY, multiple appearances at Rise afterhours in Boston, MA, Red Door in Portsmouth, NH, and Hartford, CT. Rick now has his sights beyond Ottawa's city limits by starting to delve into production work, with aspirations of launching his own label in coming years.

Kurt Yates ♥
From the USA, it was music that brought Kurt to Canada (Montreal MUTEK 2009 to be specific)! He has held residencies at Colorado's top clubs, shared the stage with well known international DJs, and loves to see people dance! Born in Michigan and influenced by the sound of Chicago and Detroit, he now plays a combination of the two cities' sounds: house and techno! Kurt does not take himself too seriously and likes long walks on the beach, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain...
Mark Nikolas Vs D-Mize ♥
There's no way these two are not going to impress you behind the decks! For those of you that know of Mark Nikolas - he has always had a special ear for the most amazing sounds when it comes to house music. Mark's also been around and spinning a lot longer then most of you would have even known what House Music was, from the decks to the dance floor Mark knows how to throw it down! Along side him we will find D-Mize. D-Mize has been acknowledged for his sever talent with both the decks and producing. There isn't much this guy can't beat match and will definitely be coming out of his usual element of RAVE to spin us some amazing house music!
