After the success of the initial launch, Rhumba has shed it's leaves and is sailing on to pastures new. Now located on the Walk The Plank boat, this travelling carnival has found it's sea legs. With the support of fire-breathers, jugglers, fourtune-tellers and other side attractions, this will be a night like no other.
Resident djs Cler Lever and Liam Bulloch bring their own blend of tech house and techno alongside special guest djs.
Our first Special guest for April is James Ruskin. Ruskin is a true techno heavyweight and can turn a few tricks when it comes to DJing. His set promises to be one of the year's clubbing highlights, with him banging it out on three decks and a laptop.
Growing up in London, James Ruskin comes from a background that first put him in touch with hip hop and electro and later with the emerging Detroit techno scenes. This inspired him to become a DJ in ï91 and venture into production with studio-partner Richard Polson by y94. It wasnwt until u96 though that he developed his own sound by building his own studio and starting Blueprint Records the home of his first true record -First Contact- under the name of Outline.
Founder of the superb Blueprint record label, Ruskin is also a highly respected producer, with three albums to his name and a fourth currently in production. He has created music for Sony Playstation, collaborated with some of the greats, including Oliver Ho and The Surgeon and has releases on numerous labels including the hugely influential Tresor imprint.
Alongside Resident DJ's Cler Lever and Liam Bulloch, we also bring you Alex Tsiridis
Alex is a young Greco-Londoner who is currently causing a stir as a Producer and DJ. Playing Panorama Bar and with a tour diary growing as quick his Beatport Downloads, Alex is being labelled as one of the UK's most thriving talents.
After recently signing up to Trapez recording Label, his latest release 'Rubber Suit' has proved what an exciting prospect he is. His 12" releases have been snapped up and are out of stock with most retailers, his style has been described as "Warping Techno with electro-tinged beats that will appeal to fans of Thomas Schumacher and Stefan Bodzin's style techno as well as the more minimal fare."
Alongside these, we have local guest Carl Dunne (Igloo/Ausgang) and more TBA.
