Residents Nadia Ksaiba and the Go Bang! team are taking an organic approach with this new fortnightly Sunday night club. What exactly do you get for your nominal entry fee? Well, a night that is drawing on the strength of its residents and, God forbid, the music they are championing. Going out for a night is about having fun to a quality soundtrack: timeless classics, rare obscurities and future party jams. Recently, however, club nights have been more interested in the plastering logos, talking themselves up, and throwing out more glowsticks than interesting and creative tunes. This night is all about the quality of the music.
Alongside the fast-rising Nadia Ksaiba, the other resident DJ is Daniel Avery (usually going under the name Stopmakingme), who also shares a love of spacey disco, techno bleeps and clicks, post punk, krautrock, and analogue sounds. The occasional Guest DJ slots sees sets which deviate from their usual straight forward club bangers.
The venue, East Village (formerly The Medicine Bar), London's new small club with big ideas is confident this Sunday residency will offer up a much needed quality clubbing experience in East London, providing 'real music' on the custom built soundsystem, accenting well it's roster of other nights playing other genres -house, electro and disco. Come party, and don't go to work on Monday.
