///Itchysoul Info///
Itchysoul was first born in the spring of 2003 when disco enthusiasts Matt Young, Tom Smith, Alex Kenning and Alex Stubbs decided they wanted to put on a party with a bit more freedom for the Dj's to play whatever they felt like, ......in an exciting new venue. So off they went scouring dozens of venues in North London... the first party was a sell out held in a back street recording studio in Camden.
Over the next year or so itchysoul putt on parties every couple of months at different venues across London. This continued until it happened upon a refurbished (well sort of) Victorian public toilet, just off Brick Lane... Public Life... Itchysoul had 3 great years of monthly parties at Public Life where the musical policy was always disco in spirit but with the emphasis on the guests playing whatever they wanted.
It was an ethos that went down well with DJs such as Rob Mello, Richard Sen, Sean P, Subway, Cross Section Records, Harmless records and many more. However, after 3 years and a few licensing problems, itchysoul has gone back on the road, playing at parties across London and the globe from super clubs to back street boozers from Festivals in Malawi to boats on the Thames.
///Heartbreak live Info///
Taking cues from Italo-disco and heavy metal, London-based electronic disco duo Heartbreak are kind of how the 80s might sound today if the 90s hadn't got in the way. A hard-rocking blend of Black Sabbath, Den Harrow, Alden Tyrell and Amin-Peck, Heartbreak are one of the most powerful live dance acts around “ word of their astonishing performances is starting to spread fast. Singer Sebastien Muravchik, a one-time soap star in Argentina, and Ali Renault's dramatic synth anthems and cybernetic tearjerkers can be heard on their "Regret" EP, out soon on Lex.
Check myspace.com/heartbreak1 for more live dates and news.
"...real italo of today..." (Casco, October 2007)
"a pure pleasure for the 'adverted' ears; quality sound and amazing voice , the perfect fit for me ; Alden Tyrell meeting Fred Ventura..." (Zoopsie, cbs, October 2007)
"...fantastic Italo-inspired outfit, Heartbreak. No mere pastiche, Heartbreak write cybernetic tear-jerkers and zooming power disco hits, sung with a lot of emotion by Muravchik, a captivating frontman. Not only have Heartbreak put out two faultless 12-inches on their Lycra label, including a split-single with Belgium's Revolving Eyes, they're also a killer live act. Muravchik dances like he's possessed by the spirits of Den Harrow and Freddie Mercury. Renault wears a Mexican wrestling mask. It's a strange dynamic but it produces terrific energy." (Vice Magazine, The Fear Issue, (Piers Martin Novemeber 2007)
