THUMP THUMP THUMP…The Black Rabbit is back with a one off summer special this time taking the festivities to The Masons, one of West London little treasures! And with residents like this who need Guests? If Justin Roberson, Bones and Guy Williams aren’t enough to make you weep we give you the infamous Andy Weatherall and the legendary Caged baby as a massive cherry on the top! Weatheralls history goes back far to the beginning of the British acid house scene having swung gigs for himself at Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom night he was part of the original Boys Own record label (and fanzine) which led to artist releases, remixes and a string of legendary London clubs such as Blood Sugar, Circulation, and of course Sabresonic (where the fledgling David Holmes cut his teeth). It was through Primal Scream though that Andrew first made his name. As the producer of Screamadelica he took The Primals, twisted them (best not to ask how) and in turn created the hybrid of narcotically challenged rock and acid house now seen as a generation-defining release.
His most recent remix work has been for Siouxsie and The Little Ones, the former track is included on his genre-blending ‘Watch the Ride’ compilation released in May 2008 on Harmless. When he’s not in the studio he keeps busy with his residencies at Fabric (London), Back to Basics (Leeds), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt) and Mondo (Madrid) as well as touring internationally on a regular basis. Tom Gandey, AKA Cagedbaby, DJ, artist, singer songwriter, remixer, and producer are some of the many guises Cagedbaby can transgress at will. In the 2 years since the release of his acclaimed debut album “Will See You Now”, Cagedbaby has toured with the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim playing all over the globe including a storming debut for We Love in 2007. Tom has recently finished his new artist album, which is ready to drop by the end of summer bearing testament to exactly why he’s become one of the tastiest thing to come out of Brighton since its sticky rock. Keep your ears to the ground for the first single! If this isn’t enough to make the hardest of hearts weep…Well, I’ll see you on the dance floor!
