An hour with acclaimed pianist Kanae Koshi performing at the Ico Gallery, one of New York's finest art and music galleries.
An outstanding pianist, Kanae Koshi has been a very active performer extensively throughout her native Japan and the United States as a solo recitalist and a chamber musician. She has given her New York Debut Recital at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall as a winner of the Artist International Audition. Her debut recital received great acclamations. In the past year, she has given solo recitals at Trinity Church in downtown Manhattan and played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" with the Nagano Symphony Orchestra in Japan. She has also performed Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.1 as a soloist at the Obuse International Music Festival in Japan.
A native of Japan, Kanae Koshi began her piano studies at the age of three. She received her Bachelor's degree from The Toho Gakuen School of Music in Japan and continued her studies at The Juilliard School, where she completed the Advanced Certificate degree under Joseph Kalichstein. Ms. Koshi continued her education at Mannes College of Music where she received her Master's degree under Diane Walsh. She also has been awarded top prizes in numerous competitions, including the Japanese American Association Music Scholarship Awards, All Japan Student Music Competition, Japan Piano Teachers Association Piano Audition, The French Music Competition, and the Nagano-Aspen Music Festival in Japan.
