You may have heard about Alex Kruger, aka Dub Taylor, aka Tigerskin, aka Korsakow and just about any other alias in the book. Well if you haven’t, you must have been buying R&B for the last 12 years.
To write a full history on this producer would require a lot more paper, so in the interest of our environment, here’s a brief summary. Dub Taylor has infiltrated the global electronic music circuit since 1996, and his endless releases could be found scattered through the crates of big players such as Laurent Garnier and Sven Vath. After the many years, the Dub scene took a back seat, and in 2004 Dub Taylor took on a new skin, for a new sound – Tigerskin. Alex proved to the electronic music scene, his ability to create, re-create and manipulate not just his own, but other artists (such as Tom Clark or Phonique) sounds into any of techno’s complex avenues.
His releases can be found on high end labels such as; Morris Audio, Highgrade, Resopal, Liebe*Detail, Opossum and Dirt Crew to mention a few.
But as things often come back before they end, even Dub Taylor is back as well and has just finished his fourth album for the constantly up-and-coming label Opossum. Influenced by funk, soul, deephouse and the early Detroit invasion and based on his longtime experience as one of the most indispensible producers around Berlin as the true Mecca of electronic music, he turned more and more into the controller of the controllers that became one with his machines: The Humatron.
The LAB boys are proud to present Dub Taylor aka Tigerskin’s launch of his new album ‘Humatron’ on Opossum Records. With huge support from local and interstate atrists n DJ's It’s time to put a new wrinkle in Melbourne’s dance music fabric.
