Kuduro house, an Angolan sub-genre unknown to most, has been causing quite a stir in Portugal and underground clubs worldwide over the last year, and the trio largely responsible for spear heading the scene outside of Angola are Buraka Som Sistema. Kuduro consists fast high energy bass heavy beats n basslines with clear influences taken from African roots music, hip-hop, baltimore, dancehall & so on, and you'll hear it echoing all round Angolan neighbourhoods. What's also special about Kuduro is the unusual dance that accompanies - what seems like a cross between breakdancing, voodoo & caribbean ass jiggling. Intrigued?

Buraka Som Sistema have been blowing up steadily and their full live show has been blowing crowds away across clubs & festival this summer. They are due to release their debut album Black Diamond next Feb with their hit single "Sound of Kuduro" featuring M.I.A. They also released the Buraka EP as an introduction to Kuduro late last year with the hit "Yahh" being dropped in sets by the likes of Diplo, Sinden, Martelo & DJ Craze.
