Its 11.59pm new years eve 2007, the strains of All you Need is Love start to emanate from the speakers, looking out over a couple of hundred happy smiling faces......it was certainly a moment. One of those Freeze moments.
Last New Years Eve was one of the greatest parties we have ever thrown, a sensational night with an unbelievable atmosphere....certainly a night that everyone that was there looks back upon fondly..
This year, after a little break to change nappies/do some proper work/sort our lives out, we return to try and go one better than last year........we are so pleased to be back and delighted to present the fun and frolics (and possibly fiasco!) of FREEZE NEW YEARS EVE 2008.
Headlining...one choice, no messing round, every single time he delivers.....Steve Parry. Steve, like last year, will play across midnight and anyone who witnessed his set last year will know exactly what to expect.....Parry digging deep into his musical knowledge and influences and producing 2 hours of musical genius. Now producing his own stuff, be prepared for something truly special. Someone who is hugely important to Freeze.....there was no other choice for this gig.
Joining Steve for an extended hours party (6pm til 4am) is some of the finest local talent in the city, we wanted to bring in some varying styles of music for the party and we believe our bookings reflect that.....everyone knows CMWMSMDM....faces about town, all round nice guys and purveyors of stupidly good party music with strictly no mixing. The lads will be getting the night started with a 2 hour set. Gareth Cheshire is a DJ that has hugely impressed with every mix that we have heard, he recently won the Circus DJ competition and we are delighted to have him making his Freeze debut. Also stepping behind the Freeze turntables for the first time are HRSN from Mumu. Having taken the city by storm this year with some outrageous bookings, the lads bring their sound to the Lemon Lounge for the first time. Last but by no means least, and finishing off the night by smashing the fook out of it....Carl Dunne. Carl is one of the best DJ's in the city and is totally the right choice to bring the night to a very loud Techno conclusion!!
All of the above plus the best residents team in the city!! Rob and Andy are itching to get back in control of the Freeze decks, its always quite special when these 2 go back to back on a big Freeze night.
So.....there you have it. Batteries recharged and back full of enthusiasm....a killer line up and the special atmosphere of Freeze. Your New Year Eve is well and truly sorted!
See you on the dancefloor!
