Tom Hopkins (Warp), Tennis (Prefab/Eindhoven), Semi-Squared (Pollinate Records), Chris Hammond (Janitors), DJ Spuddha (C90), + Moskow Diskow DJs
After a series of monthly events featuring music ranging from disco and italo to sounds from Chicago and Detroit, your comrades at Moskow Diskow are starting the new year with a techno special.
Our special guest for the night is Warp DJ and producer Tom Hopkins, famous for his remixes for the likes of Hot Chip and Jamie Lidell. Stepping up with him, Mr. Simon Shelley aka Tennis joins us from all the way from Holland to release his own unique brand of quirky melodic techno. The bill also includes Semi-Squared, head honcho of Pollinate Records. A former Jungle producer, Semi-Squared will be rinsing out tunes influenced by the likes of Basic Channel and Kid 606. We're also going to be graced by the presence of Chris Hammond, one part of the Janitors and known for touting 'wonky electronic sex music' around Sheffield and London and DJ Spuddha, minimal techno heavyweight of Sheffield's C90 night.
As always, the Moskow Diskow DJs will be filling the gaps, delving into the depths of their Detroit Techno record collection.
