For our April session we are teaming up with Aus Music to launch their brand new compilation/mix 'All Night Long' compiled by head boss Will Saul. Joining Will Saul on the night will be Lawrence and Roland Appel who both appear on the compilation.
Will Saul is the producer and DJ behind Simple Records and Aus Music. His sound is based in deep, driving house and techno with flashes of soul and irresistible melodies that hark back to the early days of Detroit. Over the last few years Will has gained an admirable reputation as not only a show-stealing DJ, but also a talented A&R and producer. Remixes for Solomun (Liebe*Detail), Appleblim and 2020 Soundsystem are also in the pipeline and will be released in early 2009. Zippo' by Will and Mike Monday has just been signed to Buzzin' Fly and will be released in February. His latest production Teddys Back was instantly snapped by Parisian label Versatile (home to Joakim, Chateau Flight and I-Cube) and will be released as part of a multi artist series in early 2009 that also includes Radioslave, Sound Stream, Mr.Ozio and Ripperton.
Peter M. Kersten aka Lawrence / Sten launched the Dial label in 2000 together with his flat mate and dj friend Carsten Jost. Next to his Lawrence releases on Ghostly International, Cocoon, Mule Electronics, Kompakt and Sender it is the Sten moniker which reduces Kersten`s musicality to the magic moments on a minimal dancefloor. Due to his large Output Peter Kersten toured around the world to invite the dancing people on a deep journey into Lawrence/Sten-sound, hitting the floors in Russia, the United States, South America, all over Europe and even Japan, where he released a Compilation in 2006 of his best tracks, Remixes and some exclusive new tunes.
Finally we welcome Roland Appel who's "Dark Soldier" made a huge splash in 2007 gaining support from the likes of DJ Hell, Laurent Garnier, Pete Tong, Tiefschwarz, Ame, Dixon and Gilles Peterson amongst others and in turn lead to his debut solo LP "Talk to your Angel" in 2008. Roland Appel is no newcomer to the world of music production having been a member of Voom:Voom, Fauna Flash and Truby Trio. This May sees the release of his first new material since his LP and his track "Snow in Springtime" for the Aus compilation is sure to place him back in record bags around the world!
