Ritual Events proudly presents Cosmo Cater as headline for the next Ulterior party, now being held at Empire Hotel’s Moonbar!
Mild-mannered solicitor by day, dancefloor smashing DJ by night – Cosmo Cater is currently living the sort of double-life which almost deserves its own comic book. Respected by punters and chin-strokers alike for his delivery of upfront sounds across the genre spectrum, you can set your watch by Cosmo’s party-rocking reliability. Just ask Infusion, Chris Fortier, Jody Wisternoff, Ils and Steve Lawler, who’ve all taken the stage after Cosmo in Brisbane over the past five years
Cosmo’s superb set-crafting abilities have established him as the warm-up DJ of choice for superclub Family whenever progressive house superstars roll through Brisbane – Sasha, John Digweed and Dave Seaman just three of the names to receive Cosmo’s patented warm-up treatment. In fact his set in support of Diggers in 2005 was so warmly received no one was really sure if the rapturous applause as it climaxed was for Diggers stepping up to the decks or Cosmo’s own performance.
Crafting slow-building warm-ups isn’t the only weapon in the Cosmo Cater arsenal, with his much-vaunted diversity seeing him hold down residencies at Brisbane’s newest hotspot Jade Buddha and monthly Sunday session The Sunday Roast. He has also become a fixture of the festival circuit, with slots at the Big Day Out, Summafieldayze, Earthcore, BBQ Breaks, Global Gathering and Future Music Festival confirming his status as one of Queensland’s finest.
On the production front Cosmo is one half of Arcane Rhythm with Mike Tuppin – their 2003 Vapour Recordings release ‘Shadows/Transient’ was a double-sided atom bomb, so much so that John Digweed played the A Side to a worldwide audience on his Kiss FM show.
The rest of Australia is slowly catching on to what Brisbane has known for years – whether kick-starting parties or fighting crime, Cosmo Cater is one man you want in your corner.
Supported on the night by locals Ben Smith and CJ Munx, and Ritual Events’ own Dingostyle and Rich Curtis.
