Promoter / Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions
On Saturday 18 April 2009 the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions (NBTC) will once again host Holland House in association with Expedia.co.uk. The festival is organised to celebrate The Netherlands’ national day bringing a taste of Holland to the UK. After 3 years on the South Bank, the festival has now moved to Trafalgar Square.
With the move to Trafalgar Square there is even more fun for the whole family, including a Dutch market where you can enjoy the many Dutch delicacies such as caramel waffles, Dutch sausage, mini-pancakes and a selection of cheese.
To coincide with the festival, the National Gallery is highlighting their great collection of 17th century Dutch paintings. On the day of the festival there will be free short talks at 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00 in the Dutch rooms of the Gallery.
Back on the square Sesame Street (courtesy of Madurodam) will be entertaining the kids, with several fun activities planned for the little ones such as face painting, meet & greet with Bert & Ernie and balloon modellers. Adults needn’t worry as there is lots of entertainment for them too. The main stage will feature an excellent line up of live Dutch bands, including Room Eleven, C-Mon & Kypsi, Moke and Kraak en Smaak.
The management reserves the right at any stage to change any aspect of the Holland House Festival without prior notification
