Eric Estornel's most famous pseudonym needs little introduction. Maetrik has produced dozens of stylish techno singles for labels such as Dumb Unit, Mothership, Treibstoff and Immigrant Records, taking club sounds in new directions and massaging them with muscular grooves. Fresh off an Australian tour and a string of awesome releases on labels such as Triebstoff (including a killer remix by Adam Beyer) and Dumb Unit, Eric Estornel is reintroducing his harder blend of dance beats across the globe. We've been looking forward to hearing him live for a long time!
Live set (Pittsburgh):
In 2007, Gregory Shiff founded The Vacationist, a label based on large scale projects and themes resulting from a lifetime seeking pure sonic satisfaction. With a particular affinity for knobs, buttons and heavy objects, Gregory has a way of making waves do strange things in very obvious ways. To that end, he has released on a wide variety of electronic-focused labels, such as Bedrock, Persona and Iron Box, and rocked dance-floors across the globe.
Live set (Berlin):
Over a short span of time, Atomly has quickly become one of NYC's favorite late night DJs. He is booked regularly at underground techno weeklies and after hours parties, where he folds deep-grooved machine music into heavy doses of housey soul with effortless panache. The depth of understanding he exhibits with each set he plays has greatly increased over the past year, with his mix at the Bunker's New Year party setting a high watermark for his late night selections, so we're excited to hear him throw down at Speakeasy.
DJ set @ Blood & Thunder III (Brooklyn):
It wouldn't be house music if it weren't for Jon and his love of house music. This boy is our house, and once you enter our house it then becomes our house and our house music. Cutting his teeth in Boston's club scene, Jon is becoming something of a late night favorite on the NY techno circuit. We're lucky to have an early set to show the other side of his mind. Equally warped and methodical.
Three-time HCWDB loser and White Castle glutton Eddie O. will take the opening slot and deliver true deepness to all present. Do not expect house music.
The party is at a semi-secret venue deep in the back of The Lovin’ Cup (formerly the Anytime Cafe) in Williamsburg. We cannot stress how deeply it is situated in this house.
