Paul Strange & Hardware present…
Stacey Pullen (Detroit) & Parallel Sound (UK / Bedrock)
It’s no secret that since Paul Strange has taken over proceedings at Favela, Saturday nights have gone from strength to strength. With artists such as Chuck Love and Ewan Pearson he’s managed to blend the very credible and the very accessible.
On Saturday 9th May, Favela braces itself for what will surely be one of its biggest ever events; Sneakerpeeps feat the legendary, Stacey Pullen. Stacey, the once protégé of Derrick May, compounds his reputation as a producer with that of being one of the world's most in demand DJs, playing weekly across the globe year in, year out. With a bio that reads more like the history of dance music, Pullen’s without a doubt, one of the true Detroit greats.
He’ll be joined by hot-to-trot duo, Parallel Sound (who have been blazing a trail through the UK and beyond with releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock imprint), Clive Morley (former Fabric London resident now living in Sydney) and resident Matt Cahill. It’s all set up to be an unmissable night of raw house music, from early evening grooves to the peak-time Detroit techno.
Taking inspiration from New York, Miami and Ibiza, Favela combines the rawness of the legendary Paradise Garage with the glamour of the infamous Studio 54. Intimate surroundings with attention to detail make this venue a unique find in the usual trashiness of The Cross. Add to this a Funktion One Sound System (As featured in Space, Ibiza and Cielo, NY) and you have the essentials for one wicked party!!!
