Archive 5 brings two disco pioneers to raise the roof off the tea shop. Maurice Fulton and Daniel Wang are both internationally respected and globally loved, each having their own take on dance music past and present.
Maurice Fulton is one of music’s true originals, an eccentric ex-pat American (currently living in Sheffield) DJ and producer who never fails to surprise and delight his listeners. He has recorded for DFA (under his Syclops guise), Tirk, 20:20…not to forget inspirational labels such as Strictly Rhythm and Warp Records.
Daniel Wang started his revered Balihu label in 1993 after years of dancing in NYC to disco classics and early house. He has since recorded for (amongst others) Environ, Ghostly International and Paper Recordings, bringing his take on the Italo disco sound of the early eighties. We welcome Danny the Dancer from his current home in Berlin.
All this will be ably supported by Solid State from Sheffield (All Out War / Society) and archive residents Scuzz McBoob and Cosmic Boogie
