AARON DAE BIO:

Aaron’s versatility as a producer, DJ, promoter and label owner have kept him at the forefront of underground house music since 1992. On the decks, he crafts deep, soulful, funky, spacey sets that take audiences on an aural journey. As a label owner, Aaron embraces tracks steeped in nu-skool funk and uptempo groove. In whichever realm he works, the Brooklyn-bred artist intertwines a soulful commonality into his electronic sound. It’s house music understood on all levels.

Aaron began his DJ career in 1994, after years of promoting famed New York Clubs such as Tunnel, Twilo, Sound Factory and Limelight. Soon after, he relocated to Philadelphia, where he began regularly DJing at local and regional clubs. Through his promotional work at the renowned Fluid Nightclub, Aaron hosted international such as Andy Caldwell, John Howard, Julius Papp, Onionz & Joeski and MFR, among others.

In early 2004, Aaron translated the success of his promotional career into the launch of a new music label, Dae Recordings. Unlike his own, self-branded style of 'soulful funk,' Aaron signed on house tracks rooted deeper in uptempo funk. 'It’s gotta be funky,' he said on signing tracks for his label. Now ready to drop its fifteenth release, Dae has been making a big splash in deep house circles, building up a hefty and talented roster on its way. In 2005, Aaron deepened his own music career by relocating to Chicago. Producing and performing in house music epicenter has pushed both Aaron and Dae Recordings to the forefront of the music scene, sharing the stage with talent such as Derrick L. Carter, Miguel Migs, Mark Grant, Gabriel Rene of Soulstice, J-Boogie, Hipp-E and Qustlove of the Roots.

In addition to dropping his spacey, soulful sound on audiences, he continues promoting events across the country. At Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference, Aaron successfully hosted 'Floatin’' for two consecutive years. The sold-out vessel carried 300-plus party-goers and featured three separate rooms of live DJs. His outdoor day party, Sun-Dae, also remains the best-attended day party in Philly.

While Aaron draws influences from the classic likes of Masters At Work, Todd Terry and Joey Negro, he also infuses elements of electro and soul. Artists such as Schmoov!, Crazy Penis, Spirit Catcher, Hot Toddy and Fanatix have all defined an aspect of his playing style. The result is a deep house blend of disco, funk, soul and space that takes audiences on a journey. 'My live sets are about the journey,' he said. 'I like to take people on a trip.'

His party-rocking abilities have brought him to Tel Aviv, NYC, Los Angeles, and many places in between and he has been featured in Spin Magazine, UK Hip Hop Connection, The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, and more.
