van Shopov (Cooh/Balkansky) started playing bass guitar in a hardcore-metal band at the age of 16, but quickly became hooked creating electronic music at the age of 18. Producing Drum n Bass for 7 years, at only 25, he has 24 vinyl and 8 CD releases to date, with many more on the horizon.
Together with Valery Sholevski (Ogonek) in 2002, he began intense promotion of drum and bass in Bulgaria, sending "patriotic" messages to the younger generation and playing resedencies in the busiest clubs in the capital Sofia, mainly with the HMSU crew. As he progressed, his production skills and style improved significantly, until finally he adopted the heavy technoid Drum n Bass sound he has today.
With a lot of hard work now behind him, Cooh is now consistently releasing epic tunes on some of the most recognised and respected labels: Position Chrome, Obscene, Offkey, Commercial Suicide, Subsistenz, PRSPCT, Obsessions, LB, Sinuous, TOV, G2, Bass Rejects and many more. His energetic tracks are played by leading artists in the genre: Raiden, The Panacea, Dylan, Limewax, Gain, Audio, BSE, Tech itch, Future Prophecies, Evol Intent, Counterstrike, Vengeanze, Proket, The Sect, Infiltrata, EBK, and more.
He has toured extensively, impressing audiences around the world, and is excited at bringing his signature sound to Australia for the very first time. He has proven to have an innate sense of how to make crowds go crazy, and loves to share his own emotions with the people on the dance floor.
Be prepared for an aural and visual onslaught of epic proportions.
