Pound System Q&A
The new release ‘As You Were’ is a great track. How is that performing in the industry? Will it be going overseas?
Thank you, the track has been well received and at present there are no plans for an OS release but who knows what could happen.
Any plans to release an album soon?
Nowhere, not in any hurry.
You'll be touring NSW first. Are you planning to tour the rest of Australia? When?
This run is a short one, but later in the year we will hit the road again.
What are some of the major projects you've been keeping busy with over the last year?
Some tracks for ‘Secret Life of Us’...we have tried not to get too bogged down with too many other projects. We spent a lot of last year working on things with other bands and artists. Now we spend more time on our tunes.
Who's your favourite up-and-coming Australian electronic music producer (not DJ) and why?
That’s tuff! There are loads of cool Aussie guys like Infusion, Phil K, Ivan Gough,
Phil Ransom, and loads of others.
Can we except to see either you or The Reverend DJing behind the decks at one of the major events soon?
I've been DJing in Melbourne for a while now at places like Revolver. It’s good to play other crew’s tunes; keeps everything nice and fresh. So yeah you might see me around at the big gigs, who knows?
In your opinion, what are the worst and best elements of the Australian dance music scene?
The gap between rock and dance is too large and I don’t mean musically. I mean the radio plays crap dance music that is not really dance music, so rockheads think dance music is lame. Until somebody with a dance perspective comes into national radio we will continue to get fake rock/cheese all over the radio about as club friendly as Deep Purple.
