Sun, 11 Mar 2012I would recommend checking out the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro too! When I bought it, I made an A/B test with all the mentioned AKGs, Sennheiser, Audio Technica and the Sony MDR and the DT990 was by far the best for me. This thing sounds real, just like an NS-10 in headphones

Sun, 11 Mar 2012i too dislike the HD25's for long sessions. it's fine for DJing when you take 'em on and off but they aren't comfortable by any means when compared to the comfy AKG's

I am using the AKG k240 mkII and I really like them, and it isn't too expensive either which is perfect to use on the road just in case something went wrong travel wise you don't want to wreck expensive headphones.

Sun, 11 Mar 2012ps. I highly recommend the monotron... tiny, and a phat sound considering the size and price. I use it live and also in the studio for more freeform soundscape stuff.

Fri, 09 Mar 2012brendon, the akg's need about 40 hours of burning in time before the bottom end falls into place, but i know exactly what you mean. they translate well for me and i like the fact that they make me work for my bass, once i get it to sound got on them it usually sounds solid anywhere. headphones are very personal, though. it's great that so much interesting stuff is available on the market. for soundcards i use the native instruments audio 8 for everything. i love it - lot's of in's and out's,... More
