Sat, 02 Jun 2012XLR8R even into the early 00s was pretty great. Cover stories on cats like Amp Fiddler and more when guys like that got next to no love in any other US mags. They made URB look like total jokers. Then sometime around 05 iirc they changed their vibe to include fashion, design, and lots of other crap that really didn't matter, as well as a seemingly ironic take on music that seemed straight ripped off from Vice or other hipster mags. That's when I quit reading it. To be honest, I can't believe... More

Sat, 02 Jun 2012There was a halcyon period for XLR8R, but that was many years before this current generation of enthusiasts were even aware such a culture for the music existed.

Sat, 02 Jun 2012Agreed. Pretty boring news tbh. They had a couple of good mixes online but that's about it. Good riddance if nothing happens.

It's jacking electro and techno all the way in this mix for URB. Maetrik, Untold and Mosca each make an appearance.
