Here's a video shot recently at Ibiza superclub Space in which you can see the Sci + Tec boss utilizing a forthcoming control system for Native Instruments' Traktor.

agree to the posts before me, what a dumb preview, with the "total out of control camera" that cant the a clean stable look at the toy cause its too hot for us normal people.......
interesting what price it gets, will be maybe a xone dx killer

.. as one of my DJ/Producer pals put it- "it's a nice little house party device", but definitely not something that will be standard.

We won't be seeing this in "on the Level" clubs or large events, unless your Richie Hawtin etc etc ..

Something for the teen-age kids to get on with. Looks like fun..

I like the loop saving funtion, but still the X1 is the one.

Good for first time buyers or bedroom geeks

I can't imagine the inbuilt mixer will be anything close to rivaling the X:one 92

that looks like something you would buy your 5 yr old for xmas :)

Why do they insist in getting that baffoon to demo to the world?

He's made a dubstep track out of Tetris for fcuks sake!

Hate those jog wheel's, but then again I was never keen on cdj's.
Seem's like a good product just not for me.

I'd rather have a a couple X1s and still have $500 leftover.

Jog wheels are totally unnecessary for this. If I'm going to deal with that just give me a pair of decks.

The market is saturated with better controllers already. Best midi/dj setup right now is 2 Denon 3700's and the x1600 mixer.

I have Maschine and an X1. No need for this imo.

Laptop, mac osx, windows, jog wells, x1, traktor, audio dj 8, usb, power supplies VS 12" vinyls or CD's and headphones. Sorry guys, I'm for that last option !

Because he's one of the world's top DJs and DJ Mag/RA aren't the sole authorities on the DJ world. Whether you realize it or not, the mixing DJ is a super small niche when compared to hip hop DJs and turntablists. That video also speaks to their consumer base while showing the controller's versatility and functions. Using a controller just to cue up tracks, EQ and play them out kind of defeats the purpose and is the antithesis to the direction NI is trying to go. Exactly, he made a complete dubstep track out of the Tetris theme in real time right in front of your eyes.

A great demo DJ in my opinion would be Greg Wilson. He already does edits/remixes/extended mixes on the fly with his current set up so it would be sweet to see what the legend would be able to do on this thing.

absolute fail with the jog wheels at the top, this is a blatant reaction to the Xone DX, lets look at it this way, who would you trust to make better hardware, A&H or NI?

Looks like a toy

This is simply a very expensive toy. Personally I can't stand even looking at those silly little jog wheels...It's like something designed for a smurf.

I'll be sticking to the club mixer and decks. For house and techno, it's quite frankly unnecessary. However, If you're a hip hop/electro artist you could see this as a possible option. Personally, if I was though, i'd still stick to vinyl decks for scratching. At least it would sound authentic. Personally, there's still something shrill, edgy and cold with digital scratching.

The X1 was a really good idea but this just does battle with the myriad of other bedroom controllers :)

p.s. it does look pretty though.

FutureMusic has a cool Traktor Kontrol S4 story with DJ Shiftee giving the S4 a workout, but their story about Native Instruments' hiring spree has really piqued my interest about the next generation of DJ controllers.

Does anyone think this device is worthy due to the hardware/software production done by the same manufacturer? I mean probably the fact that the same manufacturer is on both hardware and software, in an Apple-Mac fashion kind of way, probably makes it work and run smoothly, right? I don't know... I mean... I haven't used it, but it makes certain sense, doesn't it?

Cheers to everyone and respect to you all!

with this it is a completely digital signal flow from data to airwaves, analog still has big heavy balls for sound quality

NI hardware built for NI software should work, the good thing with this is the option to control four decks with two 'quality' jog wheels, one thing that may be lacking is the quality of sound output vs an Allen and Heath

@joeblakes - You must be right!

Bottomline is, I think I'll truly believe in this interface once I see Richie Hawtin change his Traktor Set Up, currently based on Allen & Heath gear, for the NI S4 Controller in a real situation, I mean without compromise and not in some marketing trick like that Dubfire video! Or was that party for real? Anyway....

I miss Deep Dish by the way! I miss that trippy spacey deep soulful vibe in music!

Cheers!!!
