| #1 / Thu, 09 Sep 10 09:54 Could be a pretty cool alternative to using HD-25s if the headband holds up. Fun styling, let's hope the sound quality matches the fashion statement in boldness.

| #5 / Fri, 10 Sep 10 17:47 I still use a cheap pair of seinheissers, why pay more for headphones for DJing?
I'd only drop 125 bucks on headphones if they sound 'amazing'.
That way I can use them for home and DJ use.

| #7 / Fri, 10 Sep 10 20:20 I'll stick with my Sennheisers, thanks. Pioneer headphones are cheap, break easy, and terribly heavy and uncomfortable.

Expensive ones don't distort and sound shit at the levels you end up using them in a noisy club. ATH-M50s all the way. If mine broke, I'd buy another pair without a second's thought.

| #12 / Sun, 03 Oct 10 15:05 Quite like the look of these, and the pivot thingy looks like its quite robust. I have always hated pioneer headphones in the past, but for home use I'm tempted with these...

| #13 / Tue, 12 Oct 10 11:51 Great! looks like they are coming with a similar spec sheet from the HDJ-2000 and at that price its not brain, do you know if it comes with the same ear foam material, that would be awesome.

| #16 / Mon, 08 Nov 10 23:17 They seem cool from the looks of them, nice for home/bedroom use.. with the different colour schemes probably being a big selling point..but I would stick to the 1000/2000's for actual in club use, although when it comes to headphones the sennheiser hd-25's are mi favs

| #17 / Fri, 12 Nov 10 01:24 Just got mine today. Yuck....bad bad sound...I couldn't believe it. And above that they don't fit your ears very well. I found myself having to keep readjusting them to get them to cover my ear so the outside sound would be blocked out. I really didn't expect them to be this bad. I wouldn't even spend 25 dollars on them

Fact. Mine had a total meltdown within 6 months of ownership. Every DJ I've warned, and each one that has not heeded my advice has come back to say "I should have listened to you." Pioneer makes fine CD players and one good mixer (the 800), other than that, THEY FUCKING SUCK.

 | RA Review As time rolls on and the tools of the DJ trade evolve with each passing year, one of the fundamental pieces of a DJ's setup remains largely unchanged: headphones. Any DJ who has been at it for a bit probably has his or her favorite set of phones, and as such there might not be much incentive to keep..

Because not everyone likes on-ear headphones - personally I find a circumaural pair more comfortable and flexible for different positions on the head. The mentioned ATH-M50 are my personal choice.

| #23 / Sat, 12 Mar 11 06:07 they're _ok_ cans... imo i like my mdr v700's better in terms of sound and comfort.
sound is a little harsh on the high end, but has a really nice low end. haven't used them in the club yet, but will keep my mdr v700's in my bag just in case!

| #28 / Mon, 28 Mar 11 23:35 HDJ2000s work pretty damn well and havent broken yet. The sound is not AMAZING but gets the job done very decently and the cups are safe and soft. Maybe these could be useful to some drunken shenanigans

| #29 / Sat, 02 Apr 11 20:30 I have Shure Dj headphones now, but I hear amazing things about the HDJ2000's! Also TMA-1's are getting some publicity as being good as well.

| #30 / Sun, 03 Apr 11 15:59 I tried these headphones out, not good at all.
I needed a new set for home dj-ing, tried a few and none were as good as my regular sonys, so I got another pair of MDR V-700 - for the money the best sound & most comfortable.

| #33 / Tue, 17 May 11 13:22 Pioneer headphones are overpriced for all the wrong reasons. Get Audio-Technica ATH-M50 - very comfortable, quality build and will serve you well both in studio and at a gig for the same price as this above piece of colored plastic. Or spend $50 more and get Sennheiser HD 25-1 II which are the best I've ever had - after you wear them in you won't even feel there's anything on your head and the sound is on point.

| #34 / Tue, 19 Mar 13 23:54 Bought em yesterday. They sound alright not jacked all the way up. Jacked all the way up they sound... not good. When throwing down switchy with other djs I've noticed they monitor too loud anyhow instead of checking it at different volumes and using their monitors but, that's an opinion and you now what sucks about opinions. I talked at length with another old school dj about these, yes he was the sales person but, I was willing to buy much more expensive models anyhow. We reminisced about the old Sony's and he told me for $100 and smaller gigs these are pretty good. Good for house. The issue is that they need to have a signal driven through them at a high volume for about 12 to 15 hours before they find their stride. He said the first time he put them on and played he was, oh no no no no. Then after a while they broke in. Well that's pretty weird so... I had to know. I'll find out and post about that. Or explode and leave a crater for being stupid.

| #35 / Mon, 25 Mar 13 02:54 a few years ago my MDR V-700's cracked and broke.... like they all did but they were the bench mark headphones and were great. next obvious choice and buy, the HD-25s, best headphone on the market hands down. pioneer, stick to making mixers
