After Derrick May toldScene360 last week that, "Those few seconds where things don't work are a millisecond to the audience; to you it's like an eternity," Skruff asks DJs Fergie and Marc Vedo to share their own major mishaps behind the decks.
DJ Fergie "I remember a big tranny (drag queen) came over, took the needle off the record, popped out some gum she was chewing and stuck it on the top of the needle cartridge. Everything went very well after that."
love that line! i can just picture the whole event, if anyone writes a dj biopic they should work this scene into the script.
thanks posting. good read. As a laptop DJ & live performer, I do worry about having time to set up. It there's not extra space, I've had to set up on a platform off to the side, then to a switcheroo when the current performer finishes.
