| #8 / Wed, 27 Oct 10 14:11 (Edited: 27 Oct 10 14:19) It's really, really good, but we must remind ourselves: judged by the yardstick of modern electronic music SDC offers a musical depth that is incredibly rare, but not when judged against the vast canon of late-20th Century electro, electronic jazz, disco and funk.
He is 'blowing up' because many electronic music listeners are either too young, too lazy or too blinkered from anything but 'modern electronic music' to have heard Herbie Hancock, or anything from the electro-funk heyday of the late 70s and early 80s.
Perhaps a few people should put the hype machine aside for a second, and head back to the archives to hear where SDC, and this musical form, actually came from.
