| #9 / Sat, 08 Jan 05 11:17 grandmaster flash completely and totally bit the big one when he played in sydney a few years ago. all ego, bad track selection and poor mc'ing. I was absolutely gutted as I'd expected BIG things from him.

try reading it.... here is the 2nd sentence People are already wondering about who is playing at Two Tribes 2005 (hint Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother Live, Thomas Schumacher, and Electrochemie LK live) and we haven't even done the Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day parties yet.

| #11 / Sun, 09 Jan 05 09:22 as much as i love richie hawtin and thomas schumacher, i dont think i will go i hope richie does a side show in sydney!!!! - i have gone to the last few and they arent my cup of tea anymore, im very jaded about the wghole massive event thing except BDO - tho the melbourne one could be different to the sydney one? hopefully there wont be a repeat of the G incidents of last year - i think that was two tribes?

Prodigy on the other hand does not suck! in fact it rules.

Yeah that is the sucky thing about large events such as Two Tribes that host plenty of international djs/acts - the fact that the times ovelap!!! Really can be quite annoying when two djs are on at the same time in different rooms and you're dying to see them both...and the only way you can do so is to run around like a headless chicken trying to catch both their sets which isn't great if you're after the full experience of one dj's set And i agree...i'll probably choose Hawtin over Prodigy That guy has moved in directions others have failed to explore...a true pioneer in my books

It's a toughie actually. Prodigy & Hawtin both pioneers, altho the prodigy haven't don anythig groundbreaking in quite a while and the outnumbered/outgunned album they're promoting is good by not great. I suspect Prodigy MIGHT rock it out better in a short set - if they play their back catalogue. Altho personally am a huge Hawtin fan and would always choose Hawtin over *insert any name you like here* I'm aware his festival sets are't always amazing - with richie, the longer the set, the better the set, usually. Altho having said that he played an astounding 3 hr back to back set with Villalobos at Sonar in Barcelona last year - one of the best 5 sets I saw last year.

| #29 / Fri, 04 Feb 05 02:11 Agree with you there metro....i mean, the prodigy are pioneers but haven't done anything i would go bananas over in the past few years. But they would definetly rawk out if they played a short set of their back catalogue its always good to have some electronic music that you can bang your head to without looking like a twat

| #31 / Mon, 07 Feb 05 12:24 The Prodigy were the absolute business at I Techno, tighter than haemorrhoids on a flea's ass and enough energy to power the city grid. Between them and Hawtin there's just no margin for error, happy days you lot!

| #34 / Tue, 08 Feb 05 21:40 Does anyone know what the G.O is with the different arenas, like which one will be where. Because I was reading the tour dates for the Prodigy and it says "Two Tribes, Melbourne, Vodaphone Arena..." Like whats the go? Isn't Rod Laver going to be used anymore?

| #35 / Wed, 09 Feb 05 03:52 VV it is held in "Melbourne Park". They normally used both the Rod Laver and the Vodaphone and some indoor practice court thing between them (crappiest room there, usually given to techno), as well as some other rooms up beside the Rod Laver arena. I remember the 1st TT there when they had the techno in an outdoor practice court beside RL arena. That was awesome for city views at sunset and outdoor fun At the house arena was empty! No vibe and they had to shut it down. ahhh what fun that day was!!!
