Garnier is not listed on Hardware's site, and from what i have heard he will not be playing at two tribes, but possibly later in the year.

grandmaster flash completely and totally bit the big one when he played in sydney a few years ago. all ego, bad track selection and poor mc'ing. I was absolutely gutted as I'd expected BIG things from him.

try reading it.... here is the 2nd sentence

People are already wondering about who is playing at Two Tribes 2005 (hint Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother Live, Thomas Schumacher, and Electrochemie LK live) and we haven't even done the Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day parties yet.

as much as i love richie hawtin and thomas schumacher, i dont think i will go i hope richie does a side show in sydney!!!! - i have gone to the last few and they arent my cup of tea anymore, im very jaded about the wghole massive event thing except BDO - tho the melbourne one could be different to the sydney one?

hopefully there wont be a repeat of the G incidents of last year - i think that was two tribes?

My God! I can scarcely believe that Dave Seaman is playing at 2tribes. I wonder who thought of that...

Apparently Rother isn't playing the Sydney show.. that sucks.

Prodigy on the other hand does not suck! in fact it rules.

Sydney TT has no Richie Hawtin, no Rother, no Shumacher.....& hence, NO ME!

Bitterly disappointed! :(

shameless bump.

rother, hawtin and schumacher are doing it for me.

haven't caught prodigy since they came out maybe 5 years ago? (i can't remember)

only request fr this year is no G ODs.

That shit is not cool.

for me the decision is easy, hawtin priority over prodigy.

Yeah that is the sucky thing about large events such as Two Tribes that host plenty of international djs/acts - the fact that the times ovelap!!! Really can be quite annoying when two djs are on at the same time in different rooms and you're dying to see them both...and the only way you can do so is to run around like a headless chicken trying to catch both their sets :p which isn't great if you're after the full experience of one dj's set :( And i agree...i'll probably choose Hawtin over Prodigy :) That guy has moved in directions others have failed to explore...a true pioneer in my books :D

It's a toughie actually. Prodigy & Hawtin both pioneers, altho the prodigy haven't don anythig groundbreaking in quite a while and the outnumbered/outgunned album they're promoting is good by not great.

I suspect Prodigy MIGHT rock it out better in a short set - if they play their back catalogue. Altho personally am a huge Hawtin fan and would always choose Hawtin over *insert any name you like here* I'm aware his festival sets are't always amazing - with richie, the longer the set, the better the set, usually. Altho having said that he played an astounding 3 hr back to back set with Villalobos at Sonar in Barcelona last year - one of the best 5 sets I saw last year.

Agree with you there metro....i mean, the prodigy are pioneers but haven't done anything i would go bananas over in the past few years. But they would definetly rawk out if they played a short set of their back catalogue Slayer its always good to have some electronic music that you can bang your head to without looking like a twat :p

The Prodigy were the absolute business at I love Techno, tighter than haemorrhoids on a flea's ass and enough energy to power the city grid. Between them and Hawtin there's just no margin for error, happy days you lot!

Schumacher was brilliant at brown alley last year, not so good at salt. I hope he gets to play a club set whilst he's in dance central.

Does anyone know what the G.O is with the different arenas, like which one will be where. Because I was reading the tour dates for the Prodigy and it says "Two Tribes, Melbourne, Vodaphone Arena..." Like whats the go? Isn't Rod Laver going to be used anymore?

VV it is held in "Melbourne Park". They normally used both the Rod Laver and the Vodaphone and some indoor practice court thing between them (crappiest room there, usually given to techno), as well as some other rooms up beside the Rod Laver arena.

I remember the 1st TT there when they had the techno in an outdoor practice court beside RL arena. That was awesome for city views at sunset and outdoor fun :D At the house arena was empty! No vibe and they had to shut it down.

ahhh what fun that day was!!! :D:D:D:D

all i recall from last year were the sticky floors and the very long "VIP" queue to get in.

Not much chance of breaking in there then.... although when at the tennis we were planning ways in.... so its actually all in the arenas then, nothing outdoors?

Yes I am aware of that PC:p But what i was trying to say is I looked at the TT website to check out the different arenas, and the Prodigy are (of course) playing the main arena, which is GK and not Future like it normally is. So when i checked the tour dates for the prodigy it said Vodaphone Arena so i assumed that Rod Laver Arena is not being used for the event (like it normally is). Going by this, Hardware will get the crappy indoor practice court thingy which lets light in through the roof, so at like 7am its just appalling in there :p I stumbled into there at GK last year after a couple of hours in the renaissance arena and boy was i shocked to see daylight inside of the main room :p

GK might be one of the 2 main arenas, but it's not one i go into except to marvel at the sea of humanity in fluffy gaters with glow sticks.

Those stars they had hanging from the roof last year were pretty :p Yeah thats what i thought would be happening...like Future and GK are the mains, but there hasn't been any mention of a Future main as of yet...
