i'd totally be there if i didin't hate good units so much.

why do you hate good units soo much? its probably the best room out there in nyc and the security is super chill... sucks that you hate it because you will be missing a lot of amazing talent which we have confirmed for good units

SET TIMES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED SEE BELOW :)

Blkmarket Membership is pleased to bring New York this very special lineup that we have put together which consists of Daniel Bell, Heiko Laux & Ryan Elliott, all of whom have had a strong presence in techno music today. Save the date for Friday February 4th.

Enter Daniel Bell. While living in Detroit in the 90's, Daniel Bell created a new musical vocabulary for techno that brought in blips and bleeps over repetitive basslines. This new 'minimal techno' sound went on to influence a whole slew of artists from Richie Hawtin, to the likes of Josh Wink just to name a few. His extended ALL VINYL DJ sets as well as his live all hardware performances under his DBX moniker are performances that should never be missed out on, as you don't know when the next one will happen again anytime soon! If you havent grabbed yourself a copy of the new Perlon 'Superlongevity 7' release, make sure you do so, as Mr. Bell has finally put out a track amongst many other great artists for one of the best compilations to come out this year. 'Deep Down' is his first release in quite a few years. He is a legend in our eyes and we are very excited to have him back at our party again.

Heiko Laux is the label boss of Kanzleramt, a label which can be easily described as one of the big techno labels that emerged in the mid nineties and showcased a slew of artists such as Johannes Heil, Christian Morgenstern, DJ Slip, Richard Bartz, Alex Cortex, Alexander Kowalski, Sammy Dee, Diego, Heiko Laux himself and many more. His tracks are timeless and are still played by us in our DJ sets today. Heiko has made a big come back to the scene this year after a hiatus and this will be his first appearance is almost two decades in NYC. It is a HUGE honor to have him play our party for his selected New York date. Do not miss out on this as its UBER RARE that he comes out to this side of the world as you can see!

Spectral label boss and our good friend Ryan Elliott is back. Since his move from Detroit to Berlin last summer, he has become a resident at Berghain/Panorama Bar and also part of the Ostgut Ton army. He has become a very in demand artist and with such a busy touring schedule, we were thrilled that he was able to cover over and play this exclusive NY apperance only for us. Also if you haven't already heard his new track, be sure to check it out on Ostgut Ton's new compilation entitled Fünf.

Residents Taimur & Fahad set the tone for the night, opening things up for the evening.

We wanted to also let you know the set times for the evening as we are kicking things off earlier than usual for this one.

Taimur & Fahad 10-12
Ryan Elliott 12-130
Daniel Bell 130-330
Heiko Laux 330-close

GOOD UNITS is a nice room. Sound is nothing to complain about but also nothing brag about. The lighting in there is weak though. Went one time for Dubfire, it was a good party. Wouldn't say good units is one of the better rooms in NYC though, its okay though.

please notice the sound difference this friday, we always use a extermal EQ at our underground parties and now will be using it going forward at good units to keep that bass in the front in control.

I can't believe how many whiners and complaints there are regarding BLK Market parties... these guys go above and beyond to bring talent to NYC ...Good Units is a dope space, we should be counting our blessings that we have this as an option ..

Im unfamiliar with these djs can anyone break down what kind of sounds to expect from them? Hard techno, minimal, funky-jazzy techno? Just trying to know what to expect

how about searching the dj's on youtube?

no body should whine about having good units as another venue in nyc. im only saying the sound system is ok, nothing crazy. but the lighting is weak.

It will be $20 at the door, see you guys tonight

maybe something changed since the jamie jones party..but when i was there for that, it sounded terrible and the setup was weird. it felt like a high school dance at a gymnasium.

also, the crowd was strange becuase you got a lot of the hotel randoms stumbling into into the wrong party.

and yes, i am missing a lot of good parties because of my dislike of the venue. you are right.

the one plus is, there is room to sit.

I dunno it's got a similar undergroundy warehouse feel to it....kinda like Brooklyn. I do miss the Brooklyn TBAs a lot tho :(

i don't think it feels warehouse-y or underground-y in the least bit. with all the hudson hotel randoms especially.

Agree to disagree. For the record it is technically a few floors underground and I've never seen hotel randoms. Didn't think it was possible to get that lost.

You didnt see the Tyrant party for my bday. place was going off!!

i'd be willing to give it another chance if the sound has improved since the jamie jones party a few months ago. i don't know if it has, since i haven't been back.

Definitely some hotel randoms down there because I brought some with me for Tyrant. Regardless, I like Good Units and the basement feel.

I like that place, reminds me of that spot on1st ave in Brooklyn. Same set up and almost the same size but clean. I felt comfortable.....Dan Bell dropped some mean minimal gems. Heiko Laux was dope. Good music. Good Units is a nice spot. Just wish it went to 10 am.
