| #0 / Fri, 04 Mar 05 12:15 The official press release from Tresor reproduced in full: quote: We hereby disclose that on16 April 2005Tresor Club will celebrate the last party in its Leipzigerstrasse location. The property landlord Bauwert Development Delta GmbH & Co. has amiably allowed this last extended time limit. After that an office structure for the Volksfürsorge will be constructed on the premises. We would like to thank everyone, all the artists, co-workers or guests that have, for over 14 years, made this utopia in the heart of Berlin possible. In order to arrange a worthy conclusion, our intention is to invite all the artists that have so clearly left a mark on the club to say loudly “goodbye and see you soon!” during the period between 01 – 16 April. For the future we are working to resurrect the Tresor phenomena in a new home location. We welcome any dialog and co-operation with the city’s decision makers concerning the situation.Tresor would like to proceed and realise its mission to be instrumental in the further development of electronic forms of expression.More information coming soon…With sincere affection,The Tresor Team

| #4 / Fri, 04 Feb 05 05:58 A new location for Tresor? Impossible. With the closure of the original venue Tresor will be dead. RIP.
They may open a new club, but it will certainly not be Tresor, just a new club. Maybe even a great one, but not Tresor. It is the same as with Twilo. Twilo will never come back either.
I'm just glad that I have experienced it. Will see if I can make it in April at all. Dunno if they will sell advance tix, without which it will probably next to impossible to get in.

| #5 / Fri, 04 Feb 05 06:07 It's curious .. a friend of mine from Manchester - Curtis from Manchester, i think you met him at Love Parade last year - told me yesterday morning that he was wanting to go to Tresor on hte 1st of April for his birthday. With Tresor closing, I guess I'm almost 100% on that trip now.

As Tresor announces on their website, starting on April 20th Tresor will be taking over club Maria am Ufer in Berlin on Wednesday nights with Bonito House Night and Tresor Headquarters events. Looks like quite the fortnight. ... goddam, I wish I could take another forthnight off work right now and spend it in Berlin. On a (possibly related) note, a rumour is circulating that Berlin's famous E-Werk club may be re-opening in summer 2005. As one of the propagators of the rumour points out ... coincidence that Tresor have still not announced their plans as regards a new location?

| #8 / Thu, 31 Mar 05 04:44 I'm quite surprised that there's no mention of Mills, Surgeon or Landstrumm on that line-up. I would have thought they'd be some of the first names down considering their output on the label over the years.
Still, a lot of good parties there.

| #13 / Tue, 19 Apr 05 17:41 quote: BERLIN (Reuters) - With one last thunderous, three-day, non-stop party Berlin's most famous techno music club,Tresor, closed its doors on Monday after 14 years.
Founded in 1991, the club rapidly became the top spot in the German capital's underground scene, due in part toits unique location -- the gutted, subterranean vaults of a pre-World War Two department store. Tresor is theGerman word for vault.
The club was situated on the city's former divide, right next to where the Berlin Wall stood and made its mark in theearly years of German unification.
It is closing to make way for an office block as re-building on the nearby Potsdamer Platz, the bustling heart ofpre-war Berlin that was a wasteland for 40 years, spreads further.
"Tresor is not just a building," said Sebastian Bolle, a Berlin clubber who attended the final rave. "It is the last signof old times around Potsdamer Platz."
"New clubs can go up anywhere in Berlin, but they can never be like the Tresor. They don't have the history," saidAnatol Bergendahl, a designer.
The club's owner Dimitri Hegemann hopes to re-open a club in a former power station building.
If a new Tresor is opened it will contain the old club's steel vault, he told Berliner Zeitung newspaper on Saturday.

| #14 / Fri, 23 Sep 05 11:25 Hey there,
shortly after closing the doors the diggers came. It took only some weeks to tear down the entire building and it's famous basement... I am not a hard Tresor fan, but was strange to see that...
Here's some update on the on-going Tresor things. A new venue is in sight. Currently it's still a rumour, but it seems that the historic building complex called "Heeresbäckerei" will be the place to be. That's located in the middle of Berlin as well, but a bit more eastern than the spot they had before. Heeresbäckerei is close to Sage Club and also hosts the Spindler Klatt (a so called big size club restaurant).
Let's see what happens...
Cheers Flo

In the meantime Tresor is running a "Tresor im Exile" night. I beleive it is every Wednesday at club Maria.

Yes, they did this in the time shortly after closing, but those nights are history as well. They did it to keep alive the famous Tresor Wednesday "Bonito House Club"

Trust Tami to find a hardcore progressive fan even in Berlin! ... incidentally - maybe you know Michael MacLean (Berlin based German progressive dj) ? Air ticket was £80. Originally £45 but just paid another £35 to move to a later flight after confirmation there will be an afterparty.

No idea and I really think that, if he would be from Berlin, I would know him. Prog scene over here is small. Even wise man Google doesn't unearth some facts. The only Michael I found is a NYC based composer. Whenever you'll be in Berlin, gimme a sign. I look forward to attend to a "Fight Ladies" named event, Oct 8th. Czech pearls Ladida & Lucca will play there... Not only something for the ears

| #27 / Tue, 27 Sep 05 11:22 ach, my mistake actually. Michael was originally scheduled to mix the second CD but actually didn't as he was away in Mexico when the time came round. Mystero it turns out is actually somebody else who was asked to step in at the last moment. Michael mixed CD2 of the second volume of Progressive Interpretations.
