Various Artists - Back and 4th cover
RA Review
The last time Hotflush Recordings released a compilation, 2007's Space and Time , they were dishing out chromatic variations on dubstep. Fast forward four years and they feel far, far away from the genre. With a disc of exclusive cuts and a retrospective chronicling the years since Space and Time..

I looked for excuses not to buy this when I saw it was being released. "I don't need any more compilations, etc." Then I listened to it and had no choice but to buy it. Amazing through and through.

...Also looks like the full tracklisting should include TRG & Dub U 'Losing Marbles' (2562 Mix) at the end there.

I believe the proper spelling is 'Drexcyen' :)

Not really... if the music resembles that by Drexciya, then... where would the extra "e" come from?

Shame the vinyl is about £25 new...what's going on with vinyl prices? James Blake was £27!

the compilation is so good it hurts. and andrewh - it cost 25euro because it is 3 pieces of vinyl, with a great design, and a format that is now 'specialist' - actually i think its a very fair price for the quality that this release is.

ONe of my prefered labels.... Scuba is a great and visionary boss for Hotflush.

Untold is one of my prefered ones.

Not wanting to spam anyone up, but thought i'd mention that we've just collaborated with the lovely Hotflush and graphic artist Sougwen on a t-shirt. You can check it www.shop.millionhands.net

@John.Osborn -

I buy loads of vinyl, and I will buy this (end of, I suppose) but there's some interesting questions here.

With vinyl becoming "specialist", are we buying vinyl to play any more, or buying vinyl for stock and playing digital?

I'm less inclined to put 180gm pressings that cost £30 on any old turntable.

Might be off-topic, but I think it's interesting how the vinyl market is changing. £20 for a reissue LP is no longer weird, and that's a new development. Prices for dance LPs are off the scale. I blame Theo :)

i like how my two favorite tracks on here are completely different. i think Sepalcure are completely incapable of making something i dislike, and that Boddka track is just slammin!!!
