Saw Virgo this past weekend in Brooklyn. Good times! It was a fun set.

Indeed, Legowelt's preview mix is promising!

Absolute killer.
I can't believe this is the first time these tracks are released, seriously, this is pure sex ! made my day hahaaa.

Virgo Four - Resurrection cover
RA Review
The recent reissue of Virgo's self-titled 1989 LP put the duo back in the spotlight, and the label follows up now with Resurrection , a collection of unreleased tracks made from 1984-1990, seemingly consigned to oblivion by "local record business politics and disinterest." Gathered on CD are fiftee..

Close to my hands... just few days!!

Fantastic stuff.

I do appreciate the sober 3.5 rating in light of RA's past nostalgia/myth-making rating inflation.

Nice write-up as well.

Not sure if a 5x vinyl LP was the way to go here? From the samples there's a few bangers I'd like to keep but also some weaker cuts. Something similar to the way they released the Balihu comp in parts might have made more sense.

Also, with a compilation of this size and value you would hope they threw in a download coupon...
I'll still be shelling out for it though because the good ones sound amazing!

As said before it really can't believe these tracks have not been released before. It sounds like something Omar S or Theo Parrish would die for. 4/5 material at least.

Second, i enjoyed this way, way more than the Virgo re-release last year.

Nice write up Will,
In my humble opinion this deserves closer to a 5/5..
sent this album to all my label artists for inspirato,
and I can't stop listening to it...

Classic and certainly a head of his time... Omar S. can learn few tricks of it. in fact, i bet that if it was his album it would have got an higher rate.

A must-have for all oldskool heads! This release is huge!! Some of the best tracks were only released on the vinyl box in my opinion. Good review but 3,5 is way too low.. Big respect for Virgo 4 and RH

The part that really gets me about this comp is the range... This collection (the vinyl set) is a pure testament to the timelessness of good music. I still have difficult time grasping that this was all written before the 90's.

I have now had the set for nearly a year and half; it still hasn't left my record bag. Whether opening a tiny bar in the early evening, working out a packed space during peak hour or playing mid-day under the sun, there is always a track within these five slices of vinyl that will fit the mood perfectly!

Big respect to Rush Hour for investing their time and energy to release this timeless collection of music :) *not to mention the clear financial risks of a 5X vinyl release...
