I loved the direction 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac' and Thom's solo album took so much that 'In Rainbows' took me completely by surprise by the lack of electronics but actually has ended up my favourite album of ALL TIME. Can't wait for this, theres a few videos of new tunes knocking round on youtube but will they be Radiohead songs?? Looking forward to seeing the tracklist

unfortunately, is more of the same... they need to try to explore music more and give less spotlight to thom yorkes vocals. there was a time when i had hope for a radiohead instrumental/jazz album

too bad you see it that way aaron, i dont mind that you enjoy it, great if you do. i just think they have a lot of skill and musicianship behind all band members, which they showed on previous albums. we just have different expectations of them, a mostly instrumental album would be great, the few tracks they have done in that manner have been very inspiring.

for some reason people these days are very touchy about these last two when they are not praised as a masterpiece. maybe you need to relaaaaaaaax

i've been a lifelong radio-head, and i can understand why people get a bit precious. when you grow up with a band that means something to you it's easy to be subjective

i appreciate what you say. but to be honest after 7 albums i dont care what they do. every track they give me is gratefully received (and assessed with complete bias of course)

one of the best electronic releases of the year so far. an album to pay deep attention to, as there are a lot of subtle details that make the songs better which are easy to miss.

I do agree that some of their instrumental stuff is quite good but the idea of a full album by radiohead doesnt appeal. For me Thom Yorkes voice is integral to the sound of the band. But i could see it maybe as a side project under a different name maybe. Btw sorry if i jumpd at you MNML. Peace bro.

Seriously though, if Radiohead released an instrumental album it wouldn't be Radiohead. It would just be another electronic album.

As far as this album is concerned, I really like it. Bloom, Little By Little and Lotus Flower are my favorites for now, as well as "Feral" which sounds like Radiohead's take on dubstep.

Strange isn't it? Critics slavishly berate every Radiohead LP upon release, while the rest of the world ignores them & enjoys the album for what it is (i.e. forward thinking rock music), & said critics inevitably amend their opinion 6 months hence.

I think this is a fair review. I'm a huge fan of Radiohead, and although I absolutely love this album, I can understand some of the comments.

The band haven't been brave making this album, they're just going in a slightly different direction. There's no getting away from the fact that The King of Limbs is a direct follow on from In Rainbows though.

It is a short album, however it can almost be considered as a single piece of music with the lack of stand out tracks (not a bad thing, as I often feel stand out tracks take away from the overall feel of the album), consistent moods throughout the tracks and it flows really really well - almost like the mixes many of us on here are probably more used to analysing.

I don't think The King of Limbs is going to create any new Radiohead fans, but I don't think much will have since OK Computer. With every album Radiohead release, I think we are surprised how much they've managed to change the game, which can only instil doubt that they can continue to do so - I think on this point alone, this album does not fail to disappoint.

Well worth a listen, I'd recommend this to anyone. 4.5/5 for me.

an album for the lifelong fans, amazing sonic clarity in the production, so much detail and thought has gone into each of these songs. pure beauty. some of us need music to sit down and really listen to, and this is what is on offer.

i'm with discochimp. everyone's putting up their reviews before even giving this album a chance to breathe, being victims of the 24 hour news cycle and what not. connoisseurs know better. radiohead ftw. can't get these tunes out of my head.
