That seems to be the general consensus now after the first few weeks of mystery. If you believe this blog...

Looking forward to the mix! Pinch is a bad man!

| #34 / Mon, 21 Feb 11 17:11 I think by "structure" BrownPaperBag is asking, do these tracks form a coherent narrative?
Are the tunes usually in key and if so, are they layered in a thoughtful way that enhances each track?
Do the lengths of the mixes change in an aesthetically pleasing way?
Are any tempo changes carried out progressively?
Are there contrasts in overall tone and shade, and are they abrupt or gradual?
Does the mix ever feel rushed or hurried?
Is the DJ too desperate to mix, and not let each track breathe?
In other words - is the DJ on a level where he can use other people's tracks to make his own, long, musical masterpiece?
I haven't heard too mixes that address all of those kinds of criteria. Most of the all time classic RA podcasts do, though.
One that stands out, not RA this time, is Midland's recent FACT mix from last year. That really is a mix that feels utterly logical, engaging and musical from start to finish. Everything about it just makes SENSE and feels more, much more, than the sum of its parts - clearly a LOT of thought was put into every single element and phase of it... as much as he would producing an original track.

Nah, that's cool because he says it's his personal preference. If he'd said all digital DJs are inferior to vinyl djs or something of the sort then we'd have a "here we go again" situation. So let's just hope the discussion here centers on the mix because it's an excellent one. The sudden switch around 5 minutes from ambient to heavy dubstep is jarring though. Is that FaltyDl? Because it doesn't sound like him at all.
