 | RA Review I don't know if this is a coincidence or an accident or something in the air or what, but the lizard-brain-evoking semi-sung treated-male vocal is as much a 2011 house meme as the back-to-'87 thing. So when a pitched-down, flanged-out Louisahhh utters the words "the way you walk, the way you talk" e..

And yes agreed, its hard to say that a label is on fire when all they do is rinse the same sound over and over again.

i am hearing this said over and over and over! i guess when this bandwagon crashes people aint gonna just jump off but run a mile having said that, a label has to have it's own sound so its natural for stuff on the label to all sound similar, but there is far too much press about the label, and when you listen to the music, it doesn't add up, what the press are saying is this music is ground breaking stuff, but it's just mostly badly done disco edits with loopmasters samples thrown in althogh this danny dazre track is the best of the lot, there is still some very weak stuff coming out in my opinion, its more stroke your chin than dancefloor to me

In fact i'm looking at Beatport now I see one track with a disco sample and maybe one more with a small non pertinent loop, please name me one song of the 31 tracks release on Hot Creations that has even has a disco sample. Name me the song that it samples, and the name of the track. If you can name one track that has a sample of disco track, please tell me how on any level it is the primary element of the track and makes up the primary melody, bassline or anything. Don't bother mentioning anything on the disco/edit sublabel hot natured rerubs, which is an edits label. I seriously challenge you to name one track on Hot Creations because I think you're just talking out of your ass as far as i can see there is one you could possibly mention, which is less than 1/30th of the labels output and means you are talking nonsense.

Meaning your everything rather than you're everything? How so? The lyrics are "the way you walk, the way you talk, your everything." That is correct syntax. The song is not "you are everything/you're everything" the song is complementing someone on their qualities, which makes it correct syntax.

| #43 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 22:03 wow i had to join RA just to comment on this thread,
cherrycoke is sure angry! haha is cherrycoke lee foss? or his freind?
but i agree the label is maybe too much fashionable and not very good music for the dance floor
sure it sounds good on cd for you car but i think after 6 months this sound is dead.

Yeah I'm a friend of Lee's and I like his music. Doesn't make my point less valid. Your entitled to your opinion if you don't like the music but you shouldn't make blatantly untrue generalizations about a labels songs in order to solidify your reasoning for not liking the music.

| #45 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 22:16 i do like this music, for my car, but not on dancefloor
maybe the few times i have been to this kind of night, the floor too busy for looking at the dj then dancing
and it just sounds too much like songs than a good beat and rhythm of track
everyone can have opinion no?

| #46 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 22:25 Everyone is entitled to an opinion about music and in fact they are welcome to like or dislike the songs or to feel they are too similar to eachother if they want.
They don't have the right to back up that opinion by saying the songs are all blatant samples of disco songs when none of them are.
Everyone has a right to like or dislike whatever they want, but adding to a stereotype about a label that is untrue and lazy is unfair and undue criticism. Stick to the facts about the music and your opinion about its quality.
Part of a label getting a lot of attention and love is there will always be people who dislike it and thats not a problem but its not cool to make the major point of your cricitism about something that has no factual basis in a public forum.

| #47 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 22:37 discreet music, you make mistake, i did not say hot creations is desco edit, it was the other guy i said i think the music on this label and this latest fashion is too much for fashion and hype and not for dancefloor its too much like songs and has no groove or strong beat music can still be underground and have strong elements of beat and groove it is my opinion that this music now, the latest fashionable music like hot creations is not really good for dancefloor, i have been to many night and everytime nobody dancing, just watching for dj so now i dont listen to magazines i go to nights where i know the dj is going to play music for dancing like Mathew Jonson, Ricardo Villalobos, Steve Lawler, Davide Squillace, Radioslave, Carl Craig for me these dj make me dance sorry just my opinion but yes hot creations good music for my car stereo and my kitchen cd player for when i cook

| #49 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 23:37 Hehe, went to read the review and stumbled upon this funny thread.
As with everything that gets a bit of hype, theres a backlash, was expecting it, and find it quite amusing. This music not made for the dancefloor in mind, its made with a feeling in mind, weather your in your car, on the dancefloor, or snowboarding down a mountain with your headphones on, it doesn't matter. I would never release a record simply because it works on the floor, its not what the labels about, and theres already labels that put out dancefloor only stuff, which is cool for them.
Of course there's an running essence in the sound of hot creations its mine and Lees taste, but the records are and wil be different, and if you think they all sound the same then its obviously not your thing, and you are welcome to have bad opinion of it.
I/we will continue to release stuff that means something to us, and I'm confident that when the hype dissapears which ofcourse it will, people who were listening to myself or lee before the hype will still be there supporting us, and those who are only paying attention because of the hype wont, which is fine, and natural.

Jamie, u shouldn't have bothered to reply mate, anyone who is successful or doing well always gets attacked on RA be it the big names or the up coming names i see Hawtin getting killed on here, i Saw Steve Lawler getting attacked the other week by some people who judging from there fav djs are more into electronica and downbeat than house music, ive seen Seth Troxler getting a grilling on here too. it is just these geeks sitting behind a computer and have no other talent coming on here and attacking people who are actually doing something i love hot creations, maybe not so much the other two labels hot natured and the other more disco one, i think disco should be left to experts like greg wilson, but your label is great and no need to worry about the haters, RA haters are the worst, you see them pop up all the time
