| #6 / Tue, 19 Jul 11 15:11 (Edited: 29 Jul 11 20:58) Prettay, prettay good. Despite all the songs being dancefloor ready and in the 140-150 range (I'm guessing), this is weirdly relaxing to listen to except for a couple of tunes. Much prefer this to his work as one half of Sepalcure. Infact the only real misstep in this album for me is the Sepalcure'ish "Where Did We Go Wrong (Here. Here Is Where I Went Wrong)".
Edit - No fucking way this is a 5 though. It's very, very good but far better albums have gotten 4's and 4.5's. Anyway, ratings, subjective taste etc.

 | RA Review Travis Stewart is far from a fresh face, a veteran of New York's electronic scene with over a decade of experience and at least six albums of rather hard-edged IDM and harshly abstracted hip-hop to his name, yet his debut for Planet Mu can't help but feel like somewhat of a rebirth. Room(s) is a s..

| #19 / Tue, 26 Jul 11 19:39 There has been many a 5 I just didn't understand. listening in my room feeling a sense of unjust and confusion, like i had been robbed. Maybe it wasn't the music, maybe it was me. That was not the case this time. This album is so freaking big. Yes!

| #22 / Wed, 27 Jul 11 00:05 I like it, but not enough to call it a 5/5. It's not a classic on par with Burial's Untrue or Virgo or K-SHE. It's not even on par with Burial's s/t but somehow that record got a 4.5 and this one a 5?
When Machinedrum takes it easy with the vocoder assault like on "Where Did We Go Wrong," he has me at the opening tape hiss. On the other hand, i feel like I'm about to have a stroke when I'm listening to Gbye. As much as I think the Pitchfork reviewer is being a winey beotch, I have to agree that the machine gun vocal assault scheme on EVERY track gets a little grating after a while and detracts from the otherwise amazing production. He says his influences are dnb et al. I'm hearing dubstep meets hardhouse. You know Burial making dirty little secret style love to Lisa Lashes.

I agree. Its good, but not a 5/5. GBYE spoils it for me.

| #33 / Wed, 27 Jul 11 18:03 is it just me? or "now u know the deal 4 real" sounds suspiciously similar to "everything you do is a balloon" BoC. youniverse - a bit like Theo's "overyohead"...dunno.
