 | RA Review There are probably monks in the Opus Dei who would think Clink Recordings could do with lightening up a bit. In the six years since Camea and Tim Xavier established the label, Clink's dour asceticism has seemed extreme even for minimal techno. Artists like Oliver Dodd, Alexi Delano and Camea herself..

| #10 / Thu, 21 Jul 11 13:35 Agree with Tim.
The clue was where he labelled it 'minimal techno' in that kind of hollow-ringing way you expect from someone who once saw the term used in a 2006 copy of DJ Mag, but infact has no idea what they're talking about.

| #15 / Fri, 22 Jul 11 08:57 I would suggest if the 'concept' goes over the listeners head, then it is the artist that has made the error.
This is music, not a dour science text book. Its not supposed to be 'difficult', a puzzle to be understood.
Lets be honest Clink does have a particular sound, and whilst individual records can be fantastic, a whole set of the stuff would send even the most ardent minimal techno fan to sleep.

haha good well spotted! yeah that guy had no idea about the music he was reviewing, Steve Lawler's Ketama mixes and H sessions are amazing deep electronica 90bpm stuff, but lights out IS about dance floor tech driven house, and it was the tenth anniversary so of course Steve lawler was gonna put out that kind of mix for it Just because he didn't jump pn the nu - disco bandwagon the reviewer had a beef, but thats why Steve is still going after 15 years, half these trendy nu disco names that the media hype up now will be gone in 2 years but anyway back to this, same thing again, the reviewer has got it wrong, i wouldn't say this music here is Minimal from Clink and Camea
