 | RA Review "A carrier, as in a carrier wave, is how I saw myself fitting into the scheme of things: taking different sources, presenting my take on them, mutating them, hopefully passing them on," reflects Sully, AKA Jack Stevens. These sources have, to date, splayed right across the ' nuum . Starting out as t..

| #5 / Wed, 14 Sep 11 17:20 (Edited: 14 Sep 11 22:10) Yeah, I'm with the rating if not the content of the review. Loving the first half ( (It's Your Love & Encona in particular), pretty indifferent towards the second (except for Scram, which has this understated nervous energy to it that I really enjoy. The last two minutes of Trust are pretty good too).
And with 'Exit' I'm starting to retroactively hate Burial. Another lovely composition ruined by shitty emo pitch bent vocals gargling away. Would've thought this trend woud've gone away by now, but I guess it's here to stay.
Still, this album is more than worth it for the first half alone.

| #7 / Thu, 15 Sep 11 09:51 This album is much better than a 3.5/5.
If Machinedrum got a 5/5 for Room(s) then this thing at least deserves a 6/5. This album is absolutely fantastic.

| #8 / Fri, 16 Sep 11 17:21 Agree with the rating, and agree with the idea that this album is very definitely in 2 sections. None of the footwurk influenced stuff did much for me if I'm honest...

| #10 / Mon, 19 Sep 11 13:53 (Edited: 21 Sep 11 14:51) Love this album. Keysound are killing it this year. Falls somewhere inbetween Damu's stuff melodically, and zomby triplet wonk. bittersweet harmonies. production is fantastic. I really like the footwork stuff too, not jarring like footwork often can be. It's not going to win awards for originality and you often think, where do I recognise that sound/style from? but it certainly feeds into the bass music I like. One of the best this year for me.
