| #1 / Tue, 12 Jul 11 15:46 Good feature. I can see this becoming more widespread in the near future. I was watching the Boiler room live from the beach in France the other day and they really captured the atmosphere and of course showcased great music. Also, streaming is good to interact with like minded listeners and talk about the music being played. I'm all for this medium in music.

| #4 / Tue, 12 Jul 11 20:30 Thanks for this feature. I was only vaguely familiar with Boiler Room, having never really given it a proper look except for a Blawan appearance quite a while back. After reading this, I decided to check out some of the archives and I really enjoyed it, primarily for the amazing music that was played (most of which I didn't recognize) by DJs I'll probably never get to see in person due to where I live. Photek's set in particular was a pleasure to watch/listen to.

| #6 / Tue, 12 Jul 11 23:56 the boiler room has been a godsend for following the uk scene from belgium, not to mention providing chatroom lols at the unsuspecting crowds expense. much respect to all involved, and mr 67 of course.

| #7 / Wed, 13 Jul 11 05:28 As great and timely a piece as this is, I only wish there had been mention of Turntable.fm, which allows armchair DJs at home to get in on the game and climb up the social ladder if people like your DJ selection and "fan" you. You can choose better avatars as you become more popular (you know you're the biggest when you're wearing a mau5head.). Even though it's not exclusive to EDM, those genres pretty much rule the roost. Mad Decent has hosted a room, and Diplo has stopped in at least once. Also interesting is The Top Floor, a sort of hipster American Bandstand-style webcast held here in LA which allows kids at home to stream in and compete in dance-offs. Kinda silly, but it shows that the sky's the limit, as far as formats are concerned.

| #9 / Wed, 13 Jul 11 11:50 Great article - I've been following the Boiler Room for a while, they're putting out great stuff.
I'm surprised there was no mention of the Beatport DJ streams though - they just started streaming out of Berlin a few weeks ago, too! Cosmin TRG spinning later today - gonna be sick!

| #13 / Thu, 14 Jul 11 22:59 Great article, but I've just got to add that Drum&BassArena have been doing live broadcast of D&BTV Live! for some time, years in fact. Not just from their offices, but regular club nights around London. They even set up the GetDarker broadcasts that are briefly mentioned here. It every Wednesday from 7pm; http://live.breakbeat.co.uk

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that this is treated as such a new phenomenon in the article. I think that streaming is worth mentioning, certainly. On the other hand, this article seems like a curiously narrow survey of a handful of relatively young outlets.
