the line is definitely getting more blurred, but i'm not sure if that is a bad thing btw this mix is pretty good. nothing mindblowing but really like some of the selections and how the mix ends where it started which is a really cool touch.

I don't think so at all. Fabric series covers the 'traditional' genres of house, tech-house and techno whereas Fabriclive is everything else (d+b, dub, hiphop, etc). Aside from that EDM has always been about blurred lines, so its not a bad thing at all. I wouldn't mind more of the 'live' in Fabriclive (i.e.: best live sets put down) but I am still enjoying the Fabriclive series loads lately. Speaking of which, I love Pinch productions & mixes so I cannot WAIT to get my hands on this!

 | RA Review The theory of "accent convergence" holds that, when two like minds meet, they subconsciously downplay the differences in their speech. Something similar seemed to be happening musically on last year's Pinch and Shackleton album. There, however, the process appeared slightly one-way, since the deep..

yes i agree ...they seem to reflect a certain color spectrum of dance music it never seems to break out the mold to much while im glad theres no electro house or epic trance mixes..it would be nice to hear something with a bit more color to them guy gerber sounds a bit fresher...excited for that one that being said i do really like pinch, hes a solid producer as far as "dubstep" goes

| #24 / Wed, 18 Jan 12 13:24 This looks great. Pinch is putting out some superb music. The FarbicLive series has been far superior to the Farbic series in recent months

| #26 / Wed, 18 Jan 12 14:57 (Edited: 18 Jan 12 15:14) really wanna hear this. sold producer but his mixes a bit hit or miss for me. he never seems to especially mix sounds similar to those he produces unfortunately. will always give the man the time of day though for his productions and for tectonic (for pushin the sounds of 2562, peverelist etc.) although he did do that prelaunch mix for fabric recently. havent listened to it yet though. official.fm/tracks/335534 love how he called it "another dubstep dj playin house records." man, fuck all those snobs segregating sounds and alienating groups, as if one style is superior to another. self-righteous simpletons. theres nothing i like more than a proper mash up. house/techno/jungle/soul/funk/gypsy/hiphop/ska/jazz/reggae/etc; throw it all in the pot as far as im concerned. sometimes it really, really works

Believe me, Guy is fabric 64. fabric 63 is... well, as I say, check the eflyer! Anyway, back to the Pinch mix, I think it's great to see a dubstep DJ not jumping the ship that has brought him to where he is, whilst continuing to push the sound forward and not resort to commercial sounds. Love the inventiveness that the mix can be played as a continuous loop. Pinch has posed questions about the genre and the format, which I think should be applauded.

| #35 / Wed, 18 Jan 12 19:51 i really dig the cover. i think it sums up his music as a visual metaphor to his style. aquatic, syncopated, twisting, monochromatic. late_dinner, you own a design studio and are a well known graphic artist of great acclaim? no? lol didn't think so

 |
| #36 / Wed, 18 Jan 12 21:12 And that means he can't comment on it? Granted it's a very shallow and one-dimensional comment, but I'm just tired of the 'if you don't o it yourself you're not entitled to an opinion about it' mentality. Because the same could be said for any review of anything out there.

No, the fabric/fabriclives are not sounding the same.
In my opinion they release the best mixes. Everyone is usually quality.
I wish there was a thread somewhere for everyones favorite Fabric/FabricLive.
I would probably do my top 5 on each, cause there so many!
All of the recent ones have been at least 4/5 stars for me.
I would like to see, "Dave" from 2562 do one!

The four tet is really good too, the active minds song is the best.

craig richards is a total grower...and i'm sure it's going to end up in my top fabric mixes soon enough...his mixes always do. i enjoyed pinch's mix, but i can't see myself coming back to it as often as say, craig richards.
