i have seen him blow clubs up with his sets, and i hear he drops his own tracks in live set instead of just DJ, and he isn't playing flavour of the month stuff
i'm happy to see him in the list

it does not make any sence for mr Jones to be on the top spot....

of course it does. people tend to vote for DJ's who impress them the most this year. as much as I love Villalobos and Hawtin, I didn't vote for them because there are DJ's that impress me more in 2011.

Seth Troxler has trouble beat matching on a regular basis. #2 DJ of the year? Just shows how far the quality has gone down from even 5 years ago. DJing is just a side-project for producers to promote their stuff. The craft is almost totally gone out of it. Evident at most nights out I have gone to this year, evident from about 50% of the RA podcasts on here...DJing is a dying craft.

Jamie Jones didn't make my top 5 this year, but I am very happy for him to make the top spot. I've been following him since his early Freak n' Chic days, and while I much preferred his sound back then, no-one else has put in as much hard work as him these last few years to get where he is now. end of story.

You must understand it's a popularity vote mostly and it makes sense. The most popular artists get the gigs, even in the underground or tech-house scene. People go to the gigs, like the gigs and so they vote for the artists. I'm already glad there are no Tiesto's and Swedish House Mafia's in these polls. At least half of the list played at Café d'Anvers in 2011 so we can't complain.. Congrats to RA!

Would have liked to see Eddie C, Gerd Janson a couple of others as well, but what can you do!
P.S Hats off to Visionquest who continue to bring us some of the most sophisticated electronic music to date in my opinion.
