 | RA Review For a producer so revered in club music circles, Burial has spent his entire career at a remove from the scene and the dance. It could very well be the reason for his music's longevity in the face of shifting trends: Burial isn't about what's happening right now or what's tipped to be next but about..

And incredible music too, of course!

| #23 / Wed, 15 Feb 12 20:27 'the whole city is shaking' is a great way to describe the music, well done. Burial's is the type of music that creates a cityscape of it's own.

| #28 / Wed, 15 Feb 12 22:23 'Loner' blew me away. It almost sounds like a cheesy, huge, 90's club anthem that you embarrassingly & wholeheartedly love (Born Slippy Nuxx comes to mind). I was not expecting a track like that from Burial. Brilliant stuff!

| #29 / Wed, 15 Feb 12 22:31 this release is beyond the beyond-beyond.
at some point this weekend someone is going to drop "Loner" on top of the Berghain, and usher in the second coming of Christ.
if this is a sign of electronic music to come, I am joyfully on fucking board.

| #35 / Thu, 16 Feb 12 11:14 somehow the pre-release hype evaded me, maybe it was the doldrums caused by megaupload going to the big house, with filesonic, fileserve, et.al., shutting down sharing and getting cyberpastured... the Internet's ceased being the warm fuzzy shareplace. SCNDRCLCK took to drinking Four Locos and Tilt later that week when he was greeted by this splashpage repeatedly: "Our services not available in your country anymore." I had just bought lifetime memberships at LetItBit and Uploading. Depressed and feeling the lack, I abandoned my works-in-progress from aforementioned sites. I visited LetitBit when the paranoia subsided and I couldn't even log in. LetitBit became GetItBit. I stumbled blindly onto Soundcloud and found what? a Burial EP?" Vocals crept from static and a locomotive chugging two-step "I want you. I belong to you...." There's something fairly cheery about this release... Yes, the unmistakeable walls of underwater pads, the lurching rhythms, some monstrous leviathan emerging from the lower frequencies, the hiss & crackle shortwave storm, the undeniable ambience of Burial....and there is also the emotional resonance of clawing its way out of the crypt.... And jeezus two tracks totalling a whopping 24 minutes. Excellent. Excellent.

| #37 / Thu, 16 Feb 12 13:17 deserves 5/5 imo...amazing release...Was initially into the loner track at the beginning as i'm more into 4/4 stuff but the more I listen to the rest of the ep the more 'Ashtray Wasp' track is becoming my favorite.....Musical journey

| #45 / Fri, 17 Feb 12 06:40 Untrue still sounds like it could come out 10 years from now. Kindred is by far the best track I've heard this year and a future classic in my opinion. Every track is exquisite. The word genius does come to mind when trying to describe this guy's output. After hearing this, I expect his forthcoming album to be a tour de force. No pressure buddy!

| #50 / Fri, 17 Feb 12 12:22 After a minute of the first track I was like ‘wow, it sounds just like every other Burial track, he’s not really pushed himself here’, but my views have changed completely after listening to the whole track a few times, and then the rest of the EP. It’s unmistakably Burial, but it still sounds very fresh and new.
