| #3 / Wed, 14 Mar 12 17:06 Sounds interesting. Will they also bring a new controller (like the S2/S4) to go with the new system/software?

Thank you! The NI site requires Flash, so I can't use it at work.

| #10 / Tue, 20 Mar 12 18:07 looks a little... outdated. even at a $200 price point, you can get some crazy new shit like the KMI QuNeo 3D. i'm sure the F1 will work great with traktor's new features right outta the box, but it's essentially doing the same things that the ableton controllers have been doing for a couple years now. at least this is a step in the right direction: it's raising the bar for live EDM performances.

| #11 / Tue, 20 Mar 12 20:04 Rather sick no matter how you look at it. Yes, behind the times compared with the functionality of some other controllers. However, what NI does with this is serve up a slice of the proverbial old school pie in full 21st century form. Not a bad controller to have, if you're looking to reconnect the almost extinct skills of turntablism, with modern technology.

| #14 / Wed, 21 Mar 12 00:02 You shouldn't look at it as a bad thing that "DJing", as we know it, is dying. It is giving way to some great possibilities, possibilities that actually sound, look and feel more akin to live music performances. Why are people who are involved with music that is built on technology so afraid of technological progress?

| #15 / Wed, 21 Mar 12 13:31 Pathetic device. Yeah, let's have 6,000 sounds running at the same time for one second and than scratch with elbows...this is lame even by 12 year old's standards. Great if the music you play is loop based hip hop rubbish

| #17 / Sun, 25 Mar 12 15:58 (Edited: 1 Apr 12 19:07) F1s aren't going to be as important as the Remix decks unless NI decides to restrict full mapping for non-NI controllers. I don't think that they will so you may not even need them if you've been using other controllers for Live (just remap them). However, all should be aware that there is a high probabilty that if you do not have the Scratch version of Traktor Pro 2 you'll need all that it takes to scratch timecode/deck control over the clips (like in the video).
Meanwhile, running Traktor Pro 2 and Ableton Live on one system and sync'd via virtual midi is still great. So NI adding clip launching to their decks won't actually kill Ableton Live as the performance software "not for DJing". Live still allows you to use whatever you've got - the only inconvenience is that if you want the best sync, you have to use one computer and suffer from screen realestate issues between the two GUIs (Traktor and Live).
No biggie...Use F3 and map your controllers for 2.5 (hopefully).

Never needed to be...because he's 'Nice' and the other part of his act was 'Smooth' from Nice&Smooth. Can't change history, he's a legend....may'be annoying and new to you but not to those in the know...back in the days, it was the voice and the lyrical flow you could follow!

| #29 / Wed, 13 Jun 12 06:05 (Edited: 13 Jun 12 06:38) Traktor version 2.5 has only been out for a few weeks and if you read through the mess of user reported issues in the NI forums, DJTT articles, Traktor Bible updates, etc. it may leave you with the impression that they were: - Not ready to release this - Took a risk and didn't anticipate the issues they would get feedback on - Earned a consecutive 'Stinker' rating for product launches gone bad since people are starting to 'roll back' to version 2.1.3 (etc.) until there's a 2.5.X version they can use. Some users report no issues but NI is being inundated with a high amount of user requests for help on things that amount to bugs, bugs, bugs and some limits whether it be unsupported OSs, processors, etc....all that great limelight on Traktor's new Remix Decks and F1 controller has faded; the confetti has dropped and revealed that the team has left to go fix some major issues. NI has to focus on fixing their stuff and can't rely upon DJFreshfluke's forum moderating to put out fires burning in the whole community now. The current 'free software update' situation would make the average Traktor user overly pessimistic; boost up the confidence of non-Traktor users and make some 'kids' hoping to be like DJ Shiftee go back to Guitar Center and demand a refund! May'be this was why their launch was at a (not-so-secret) hotel location away from Winter NAMM (so that they could limit user feedback/bad press?) and they've got a recruitment banner up since before 2.5 came out? Seriously, judging by the nature and amount of some of the 'old' carried over issues resurfacing these days, NI should feel reasonably forced to fix some of those issues before their reputation is tarnished. Things that they didn't have on their top 10 priorities list (i.e. CDJ 1st beat marker cue issues) are being reported like CNN during a Swine Flu epidemic. Personally, I'm staying clear of 2.5 until they get their act together because I need performance not 'new crap'. Also, check-out DJTechtools.com's article about limited third-party controller capabilities over the remix decks (unhacked) "Traktor’s 2.5 Remix Decks will have Limited Controller Function.. For Now (Updated)"

| #31 / Thu, 14 Jun 12 20:38 (Edited: 14 Jun 12 23:46) Problem is that most people who are using version 2.5 are at this point right now..However, DeeJay Endo's latest video on this topic is most informative on the F1_2.5...JUST for those who simply want to know what is supposed to happen with this (once it's all fixed)

 | RA Review These are good times for DJs who like to do more than just mix one track into another. The dividing lines between the worlds of DJing and live performance, having been blurred already over the past few years, are continuing to disintegrate. Native Instruments has been one of the biggest leaders in..

| #40 / Wed, 04 Jul 12 17:22 maybe all of you people who have had problems with traktor and its hardware should invest in some NEW computers... like seriously, you're still using 10.5.8 and you're complaining? dude, NO new software works with that ancient OS. Seriously people, IF ITS SLOW AND CRASHES, ITS YOUR COMPUTER, NOT THE SOFTWARE. maybe instead of buying a new controller you can drop $30 on a new OS or $90 on some RAM, or better yet, both!

| #44 / Wed, 19 Sep 12 01:36 I use Traktor since Final Scratch 2 (And yes, I has Final Scratch 1 and 1.5) and this new evolution of remix decks make me curious about to insert and DJ over some loops syncing the tracks with my own hands.. With 27 years of DJ in clubs, it's a nice addiction of emotion on DJing..
