I'm slightly playing devil's advocate here, but don't arguments about her voice bravely shaking off the 'digital smog' sidestep the real issue - that it often sounds unstable and out of tune? granted, plenty of bedroom auteurs these days hide sub-par vocal talents with production trickery, but there are also whole worlds of musicians out there who can sing unadorned and make it sound spot on. P.S. I really like this album.
