Nick Curly
Return To Mono’s Friday 13th April club night will definitely be one to remember with special guest “Sound of Mannheim”, Nick Curly appearing at Sub Club on his “Between The Lines” Album World Tour.
Nick Curly first began his DJ career at the minor age of 15 and more than a decade later his long awaited début album will be released in March 2012. A regular at clubs all around Germany for over 10 years, including the Loft Club in Ludwigshafen and the legendary Soho Club in Mannheim, he is now defining himself as a regular around other European cities’ night-life.
The story and success of Curly in the past few years brings inspiration and shows proof of what is possible to achieve, especially given the rapidly changing environment of the electronic scene. Most of Nick’s releases have been through Cocoon Recordings, 8 Bit and Murmur and somehow he found time to set up his own label Cécille Records and release his own material through this. The successes of the label showed Nick join his label mates for the 2 Years of Cécille European Tour that hit major clubs.
His biggest releases include the ‘Series’ collections in 2009 and the Sun City EP that was Cocoon’s highest selling 12” of 2011. His recognition has been rewarded as again he topped the Resident Advisor’s annual DJ poll and he has been honoured with a residency at the world famous Ibizan club, Space.
His début album may come as a surprise as Curly is acknowledged for his dance-floor hits; this project shows him mature and expresses a slow feeling tone. His reinvention of this emotional appearance is through the live instrumentals and vocals provided on the tracks.
With the Between The Lines World Tour going to Australia, Japan, South Africa and USA we’re thrilled that Nick Curly makes a quick stop in Glasgow.
